Description

We are Iain from England, and Janka a Hungarian who grew up in Finnish Lapland. We live together in Finland where we met 2 years ago on the dance floor. We were both working on a festival, Iain as part of the building crew, and Janka was running a raw cake kitchen.

Iain done a lot of workaway travels in Canada, and around Europe before settling on an eco village in Finland in 2020.
Janka grew up close to Horses and wilderness, between the Arctic and Hungary.

We are both united by a love of nature, food, good company, dance, cold water and a deep trust in each other. We enjoy working at festivals, events, and retreats. We have organised a couple ourselves in Finland around small guided walks in nature, connecting to herbs and the elements.
Last winter we worked together in the Arctic as Horse and Husky guides. Janka knows horses very well, Iain learned how to guide with dogs while in Canada.


Both of us know how to garden and how to feed people, lots of people. We long for more closer connection to food. That is why we are doing workaway. We both have experience of this alone, but together we want to find places that we can visit, to grow, to share, teach and learn. Our life is pretty Nomadic, we move between England, Hungary, and Finland. Someday we will have our own farm and family to invite workawayers, but for now we want to see more, get more inspiration and expand our wonderful network of people.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

We both know how to use a shovel. Janka is studied and passionate about picking wild herbs and making medicines. Iain loves to create and build. We are very good cooks and enjoy cooking for people. We work together cooking for events.
Our work ethic is quite strong, and is our play ethic. We are typically the first ones, and last ones dancing.
Iain is a carpenter from a city who turned green and travelled using his building skills in exchange to learn how to grow food. He's built many chicken houses.
Janka studied agriculture, and horses, she already knew how to drive a tractor and ride a horse before she started her Biology degree. She is a passionate composter.

We know quite well how to live on the road, and in the outdoors. We are fairly adaptable and easy going people who can manage themselves and know how to contribute to the unseen stuff of every day life.

Autres infos...

We are here to integrate workaway into our existence in a meaningful and sustainable way. It will allow us to explore our shared countries deeper together, and embrace new ones.
Last year we travelled with a friends van from Hungary to Finland, filling it with so much food. We envision a lifestyle that we can have our own kind of trade route between the countries with places to stay and share in the abundance. Well we already started that! Soon enough we will have our own van.
