I grew up bilingual with an English speaking father from Canada and a German mother. I am happy to teach basic skills in any one of the two languages. I was once fluent in Spanish because I lived in Chile for 9 months with a Spanish speaking family and studied in a Spanish school. Unfortunately, my skills have decreased due to a lack of regular practice. I can still understand and read the language pretty well, but have a hard time speaking, therefore i would love to return to the level that i was once at by practicing regularly and maybe having a little help along the way 🙂

Quelles sont vos compétences ?
I am open and communicative, i am fluent in German, English and eager to become fluent in Spanish. I have a variety of experiences settling in with new host families as i have spent a school semester in Chile, Canada and have participated in other short term school exchanges.
Before i left for my travels, I gained experience working with kids, giving German lessons to a 12-year-old, being a babysitter and taking care of two children in my neighborhood and working on a goat and sheep farm that hosts children’s birthday parties as well as holiday/vacation camps. For more than four years now i have gotten to know and looked after children between the ages of 5 and 12 and would love to make use of my experience.
This year i finished high school in Germany (grade 13) with a focus on chemistry and biology, but i have great interest in areas like politics, history, languages and sports. I also have great interests in music and was in a music class from grade 5 until 11, played piano from the age of five up until the beginning of my trip. I have also played the cello and sung in a choir for many years until the beginning of this year.
While graduating i got my drivers license and have gained solo driving experience for about four months.
At home i was in charge of cleaning, feeding and looking after our cats and chickens, occasional cooking and helping my father in with gardening work.
I have also worked in a small grocery store selling organic products and am used to a work routine and late as well as early work shifts. This job also helped me develop lots of customer service experience.
I am a responsible and thoughtful person and have been taught to be independent from an early age.
I would also call myself a quick learner and am very happy to be taught new skills.
Soy una persona comunicativa, hablo inglés y alemán de forma corriente y quiero mejorar mi español.
Tengo mucha experiencia viviendo con familias anfitrionas, por un semestre he quedado en Chile y también en Canadá, además he participado en diferentes intercambios de colegios.
Antes de empezar mi viaje, por cuatro años acumulé mucha experiencia trabajando con niños. Fue tutora para una chica de 12 años, fue una niñera de dos niños y trabajé en una granja de cabras que organiza fiestas de cumpleaños y campamentos de vacaciones para niños de todos edades.
Este año gradué el colegio alemán, mis asignaturas principales fueron biológica y química, pero igual me interesan las políticas, deportes, historia y idiomas. Yo también siempre he sido muy interesada en música y fue parte de una clase de música por 6 años, toqué el piano por 13 años, el chelo por 10 años y canté en un coro por la mayoridad de mi adolescencia.
Además, este año hice mi licencia de conducir y tengo cuatro meses de experiencia conduciendo sola en coches diferentes.
En casa fue mi responsabilidad limpiar, cuidar nuestros gatos y gallinas, a veces preparar comida y ayudar mi padre con tareas en nuestro jardín.
También he trabajado en un pequeño supermercado con productos orgánicos y me acostumbre a una rutina de trabajo y a trabajar temprano en la mañana o hasta la noche. Además fue ahí donde fue introducido al servicio de clientes.
Soy muy responsable y acostumbrada a vivir y trabajar independientemente. También pienso que soy una persona que aprende rápidamente y me alegra mucho aprender nuevos habilidades.

I love watching and partaking in sports, and also generally enjoy outdoor activities, especially in nature. I grew up surrounded by nature and feel very comfortable in forests, at the beach and while doing activities like hiking.
I also enjoy the city lifestyle very much and have been drawn to living in bigger cities for many years now.
I am interested in music and have years of experience playing the cello and piano.
In general, i am a pretty social person and love getting to know people and sharing experiences.
