Description

My name is Hannah.

I have always had a keenness to travel and learn about cultures and ecosystems outside of New Zealand. After finishing my Science degree in geography and gaining work experience in communications and marketing, I endeavor to spend 2024 exploring and learning about new places.

To me, a sketchbook is a more valuable possession than a camera. I am always drawing inspiration from the natural world around me and look for opportunities to contribute my creative skills towards environmental movements or digital campaigns.

In the words of my friends, I'm an "old soul" who is independent and comfortable travelling alone, while being sociable and making friends along the way.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I have worked in a range of hospitality roles, such as restaurants, cafes and hospital kitchens. These were sometimes fast-paced environments where I learnt to work efficiently with my team to provide a good service for customers.

My experience in communications roles for local governments in New Zealand and Australia gave me opportunity to build on customer service experience, through community engagement events such as market stalls. I'm approachable, patient and a good listener.

My creative skills extend to Adobe Creative Suite, painting and filmmaking. Last year I was able to practice these skills professionally and have exhibited my paintings in a few solo exhibitions in my community. I am confident in my ability to write for a variety of audiences and purposes, sometimes writing articles for online platforms, one of my favourites about the future for smallholder coffeefarming in Timor Leste. I have experience in social media, both content creation and analytics and utilize my creativity in this area.

I practiced yoga throughout 2023 and stayed at a yoga retreat in Thailand. I enjoy sharing my learnings with people I know.

With a science degree in geography, I have some experience in data collection fieldwork and knowledge of climate processes. I have a strong interest in climate change topics and social inequalities related to this environmental crisis.
