We are Gaja and Francesca, a dynamic duo of 22-year-old Sicilians studying at the University of Bocconi in Milan (diving deep into economics and management) and the University of Bologna (exploring the vibrant world of international affairs). We're bubbling with excitement to kick off our Workaway adventure and can't wait to tell you why we're jazzed about this journey!
First off, we're itching for a change of scenery and a dip into nature’s embrace. Living amidst breathtaking landscapes, far from the frenetic pace of city life, sounds like a dream come true. We're convinced that such serene settings are perfect for nurturing personal growth, enhancing mindfulness, and forging a heartfelt bond with our surroundings.
But wait, there’s more! We're super keen on soaking up new cultures and diving into a linguistic pool. Getting up close with new traditions, while sharing the spicy flavors of our Sicilian roots and taste, is a thrill we can't wait to experience. It's all about exchanging stories, laughter, and learning from each encounter.
And yes, we're here to help! Be it eco-projects, volunteering with vibrant NGOs, pitching in with tourism, or even just helping around the house and garden—we're on it! We believe every small help adds up to big changes, and we're here to do our part.
Plus, we’re all about learning and growing. Mastering new languages? Yes, please! Perfecting our green thumb? Absolutely! Picking up skills in unexpected areas? Bring it on! We're eager beavers when it comes to expanding our horizons and stacking up those skills.
In short, we're two free spirits ready to sail from the familiar shores into the exciting unknown. Nature, culture, community, and personal growth—are the winds that guide our ship. We’re stoked to embark on this epic journey with open hearts, curious minds, and a backpack full of enthusiasm.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?
Our skills? Oh, where to begin! We're two peas in a pod—remarkably similar yet delightfully distinct—and this duality has steered us through varied pursuits over the years. Some of these activities brought us back together, letting us share the highs, the lows, and the triumphs.
Francesca boasts valuable expertise in the green and sustainability sector, while Gaja excels in organizing events, from concerts to charity fundraisers. Together, we've also managed the social media platform for our association, loving every moment of content creation and making engaging reels.
Francesca has years of dance experience, and Gaja has competed in swimming and tennis. Gaja is definitely the more sporty of the two 😉, but we both love trying out new sports and exploring new fields. Indeed, Francesca recently took up surfing and brought Gaja into this wonderful water sport, providing us with precious moments together.
We’re both food enthusiasts—keen cooks but even keener eaters! While we're not perfectionist chefs, we adore whipping up both delectable and intricate dishes for our friends, who are always eager to sample our creations.
Language-wise, we’re pretty skilled; both of us are fluent in English, Francesca speaks French, and Gaja Spanish. Being Italian, we can make ourselves understood anywhere, even if we stumble on a word or two.
We’re both active members of a youthful association named Perpetuum, which is dedicated to rejuvenating our hometown of Marsala to make it more enticing for the future generation. Our aim? To transform it into a forward-thinking hub that not only attracts but also retains its youth, providing a fertile ground for new businesses and promising job prospects. From organizing events and entrepreneur conferences to charity shows and beach clean-ups, we do it all! We're passionate about nurturing the city that has nurtured us for so many years.
In essence, we're two enthusiastic souls armed with a solid set of skills and a deep commitment to community improvement. Ready to roll up our sleeves and dive into new challenges, we're excited to bring our energy and expertise wherever they're needed most!
