Hola!
My name is Angelina (sometimes Angie, Gina or Jolly). I'm an Austrian girl with a big love for nature, animals, languages and self-sufficiency. I just finished my bachelor’s degree in translation and interpretation and am right now on my way to discover Latin America. I am a travel-soul and love to learn more about different cultures, mindsets and languages. The last few years I’ve made my way to discover Westasia, North Africa and Europe a bit more and a few years ago, I spent 7 months in the north of Norway (Tromsø) working as a dog-musher, dog trainer and tourist guide with 311 fluffy cuties and a lot of guests from all over the world. I experienced how it is to live the Arctic life, with all its beautiful sunny days at the beach, and tough blizzards while being out with the dog-sled in the mountains. I really appreciate having the opportunity to get to know so many interesting and lovely people during my journeys. Being around with and helping people makes me very happy and fulfilled. Since I am very connected to nature and it’s amazing phenomenon’s, I would love to learn more about wild plants, living a sustainable life and being self-sufficient from what grows in your garden. There is nothing better than having food in your hands that you have planted and harvested yourself!
My childhood, I spent on the Austrian countryside, together with a lot of cows, goats, sheep and cats. Because I was also working with over 300 Alaskan Huskies up there in the North and had some pets myself, I am very familiar with animal care. I speak German, English, French and Spanish more or less fluently and right now I am trying to dive a bit into Portuguese. That’s why I am really looking forward to going to Latin America, to learn more about the latino Spanish (and maybe Portuguese), to get to know more about the culture and spirituality, doing some farm work, cacao ceremonies and of course meeting lots of new lovely souls on the way :)
I definitely love adventures and am always open-minded about learning new things. So dear host family, I am really excited to experience my next adventure together with you and hope to see you soon!Centres d’intérêt

Quelles sont vos compétences ?
Since I worked as a ski instructor for kids and have done a lot of babysitting the last few years, I have a lot of experience with children and love to be around them. Also, when it comes to animal care, I made most of my experience when I was working with over 300 Alaskan Huskies in Norway, when I did a Workaway with Icelandic horses and also from my personal experience with my own pets at home. From medical basic knowledge, preparing their foods, to training and of course knowing how to give the best massages and cuddles, we have learned every necessary skill when it comes to animal care. During my childhood in Austria, I was always around horses, cows, goats and sheep, and for 6 years I was doing horse-riding in my neighbor-village.
A lot of physical work and handcrafting, was as well part of my job in Norway. We were lifting a lot, pushing sleds, shuffling snow and working outdoors for basically all the time, in every kind of weather condition.
I've been a vegetarian for 8 years now and I love to cook with natural fruits and veggies. Especially when the food comes right from the nature outside your house! So if you need somebody to take over the cooking for you from time to time, I would love to do that!:)
Gardening skills, my knowledge about herbs and wild plants, as well as cultural insights and language improvement, are skills I would like to improve during my upcoming work in Latin America.Âge

Autres infos...
A hobby of mine is to do music. Nothing professional or utterly good. I just play a bit of piano and love playing the hand drum, because it's the perfect instrument for improvising and just going with the flow :) I'm always up for cozy evenings at a fireplace with nice music and good company.
Some things I love most, is to spend my time in nature (alone or with good company), play chess and board games, as well as going out for hikes and doing outdoor activities or reading a good book on or under a tree :)
For when busy times are on it's way, I love to do Meditation and Qi Gong or Taiji Quan, to refresh my mind and body. Doing a Vipassana would also be something that's on my to-do list for sometime in future :)Informations complémentaires
