Hi, I'm Giacomo! I'm 22 years old, I study psychology, and I love traveling and connecting with people. After high school, which for me coincided with the post-pandemic period, I started a university program that didn’t really feel like the right fit for me. I was very fortunate to take a few sabbatical months during which I had the opportunity to have two wonderful experiences with Workaway. The first one was in El Hierro (Canary Islands), where I did small maintenance jobs, gardening, and upkeep. The second was in an international hostel in Bratislava, where I worked on cleaning, customer assistance, and at the reception.

Since finishing high school, I've tried to seize every opportunity I've had to travel, and among the many experiences I've had, the most significant ones are:
- 1 month of volunteering in Madagascar, which I still can't stop thinking about
- 1 year of Erasmus in Valencia
- a beautiful trip to Iceland with my family
- an interrail trip that I won in the European Union lottery with my friends.

As of now, I study psychology, as I mentioned, and I am very happy because it fascinates me and nourishes my curiosity. I love being able to connect with others and hear stories and experiences that always enrich me. I enjoy trying new activities (every now and then I like to draw, but I don't have any particular talent, haha). I consider myself enterprising, flexible, and quick to adapt to new situations. Currently, I am fluent in English and Spanish, in addition to Italian.

Ciao sono Giacomo! ho 22 anni studio psicologia e amo viaggiare e conettermi con le persone. Dopo il liceo, che per me ha coinciso con il post pandemia, ho iniziato un'università che però non sentivo mia. Ho avuto quindi la grande fortuna di prendermi dei mesi sabbatici e di fare due bellissime esperienze con Workaway. La prima è stata ad El Hierro (isole canarie) dove ho svolto piccoli lavori di manutenzione, giardinaggio e mantenimento. La seconda invece in un ostello internazionale a Bratislava dove ho svolto pulizie, assistenza clienti e reception.
Da dopo le superiori ho cercato di cogliere ogni occasione che ho avuto per viaggiare e tra le tante esperienze che ho fatto le più significative sono:
-1 mese di volontariato in Madagascar, a cui tutt'ora non smetto di pensare
- 1 anno di Erasmus a Valencia
- un bellissimo viaggio in islanda con la mia famiglia
- interrail vinto nel sorteggio dell'unione europea con i miei amici.
Ad oggi studio psicologia, come dicevo, e sono molto contento perché mi affascina e nutre la mia curiosità. Amo riuscire a conettermi con l'altro e sentire storie e esperienze che sempre mi arrichiscono. Mi piace sperimentare attività nuove ( ogni tanto mi piace disegnare ma non ho un talento particolare ahah). Mi ritengo intraprendente, flessibile e mi adatto in fretta alle nuove situazioni. Ad oggi sono fluente in inglese e in spagnolo oltre che all'italiano.
