I am a mature Workawayer! I have always been interested in travel and have visited Europe, Africa, Asia, Australasia and North America in the past. I have worked in B2B/Industrial Marketing & Research for over 30 years and I have always been fortunate to have flexibility to travel and learn about different cultures, sometimes combining this with work as well.

I am at a stage of my life where I have more freedom to explore the world and I hope to do this over the next few years. In the last couple of years, I have also worked online part-time teaching English to children in Asia/China, which I have really enjoyed and found it to be very rewarding.

I enjoy both city and rural environments and working with people from different cultures. I have undertaken a range of voluntary work including UK City of Culture (Coventry) 2021 events and in healthcare. I hold UK and Irish passports.

I am interested in teaching English to both Adults and Children. In 2019, I completed CELTA and also Certificates in Business English and English for Academic Purposes (including IELTS). Since 2020, I have taught English Online (1-to-1 and groups) to children part-time. I have found this very rewarding. I will also want to learn the local language wherever I stay. I have a diverse academic background and like to converse about geography, history, culture, environment, energy and technology as well.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I have worked in B2B/Industrial Marketing & Research for over 30 years, specialising in Engineering, Energy, Transport & Logistics, ICT and Education, following a degree and postgraduate qualifications in Business Studies/Administration. I also worked in Manufacturing Industry, mainly Ceramics.

In 2019, I completed a CELTA course. During the last 3 years I have taught English online, predominantly to children aged 5-15 years. I have had great fun and would be pleased to teach in class and using online platforms. I am currently developing my skills teaching 'groups' of 8 to 16 children online, using different platforms.

I am also interested in (not particularly good at!) sports, particularly football, kayaking, swimming, hiking. I worked on summer camp in the Catskill Mountains U.S.A . and I was also College Representative. I have a wide range of hobbies including pottery, art and the environment. So, I will be potentially interested in many opportunities with Workaway.
