Hi, I'm Frida an 18 year old girl from Germany. I mostly grew up in Germany, but spent a few years of my life also living in Ontario and California. Through these kinds of experiences, I've always learned to value travelling and spending time in different countries and cultures.
I am a very adventurous person, and I love living through new experiences as well as forging new connections. Travelling has always been a passion of mine and up until now I've travelled to 15 countries mostly throughout Europe. Just this summer in 2023 I did a solo Train trip through Europe across 7 countries, learning a lot about myself and the people around me. I really live for connections with people, and learning new things about the world.

At home in Germany I was one of the youth group leaders at my church and decided to be student body president for my junior year in high school. It's really important for me to keep a lookout for kids, a little bit younger than me and make sure that they're not being overlooked. I have a mentor, mentee relationship with some of the kids in my town and it's one of the most fruitful connections I've ever had for both sides. It makes me really happy to be able to be there for them when maybe they don't feel supported by their own family or friendship circle.

Another great passion of mine is art. I think art is an incredible and limitless way to critique, work through, process, bring attention to, appreciate and love any topic on your mind. Art is a huge part of my personality and something I'm always associated with at home. I love being an artist because it gives me the freedom to express creativity in anyway I want. During Covid I build up a small art business, to have a place to showcase my work and share it with people.
I work with many different mediums and love anything really, but my absoulute favorite ways to create are through painting, scetching and photography, as well as sometimes videography.

The last big thing that really makes me happy is spending time in nature. I'm at my happiest and calmest when I am sitting, or hiking through the woods. Whether is working in the garden, hiking along a trail, camping or canoeing, it brings me joy! It is the main reason I am interested in spending a lot of time in Canada because I really want to experience untouched nature here as well as I can.

To sum thats up, I am an excited young woman, who thrives in nature and through creating, as well as connections with people and places in the world!

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I'm the youngest child, and in the past few years, I've had to learn to be at home for a while. That is prepared me for a lots of things around the house.

I can help around the kitchen, I am a pretty good cook and have lots of fun with grocery planning and thinking about what meals would be good situation. I'm a vegetarian myself, and need to plan my meals because of my type one diabetes so it's some thing that I have gotten very good at.

I love DIY renovation projects. I've helped my stepfather, build his van and done a few home renovation projects in my room such as painting or flipping furniture.

At home I was a tutor for math and french. I taught 11th grade math and french up to eighth grade in Germany and i love teaching and working with kids to elevate their skills.

I love animals, but truthfully, never had a pet because we weren't allowed to. I've walked the dogs in the neighbourhood and cared for friends pets for a trim out of time, and really want to work on being able to care for animals more in the future.

I love learning new skills and am a pretty fast learner and I am open to helping out with lots of things that are listed here as well!
