Hello!

We are a couple from Christchurch, New Zealand. We both really love spending time in the outdoors, hiking and rock climbing. During our weekends we like to go for walks in the mountains, going on camping trips and spending time with friends (often accompanied by good food!). We also appreciate art and have many creative hobbies. Both of us have been doing pottery for 2 years and enjoy painting and printmaking.

We are travelling to see more of the world, meet new people and experience different cultures while learning new skills from others. We are open minded and happy to give most things a go!

Our experience:

We have both spent many hours volunteering in our university community garden. The tasks included; sowing seeds, turning compost, weeding and harvesting. We both love conserving nature and have volunteered with the Department of Conservation, planting native trees and restoring natural habitat. For two years we were part of a pottery community in Christchurch. We would often spend time maintaining the studio space and organising events such as exhibitions and workshops.
Fleur grew up on a market garden, growing vegetables and flowers. During the busy seasons we still help on the farm.
Angu's family has always been in the food business, owning busy restaurants and a take-away shop. Growing up he has needed to help prepare food and serve customers.

Through this experience we have developed the skills to learn on the job and have a great work ethic. We hope we can share these skills with you and are eager to learn some more.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Gardening and farm experience
-We have both helped on Fleur's family farm, planting and harvesting vegetables and flowers. We love to get our hands dirty and have spent many afternoons in the community garden during university. We are interested in learning more about permaculture and sustainable farming. In New Zealand we have volunteered with the Department of Conservation, planting native trees and restoring natural habitat. Tasks included planting and weed control.

Cooking and household jobs
- We both enjoying food and more so eating. Trying new foods is a highlight of travelling and food taste better shared. Angu comes from cooking family and has worked in a kitchen before. He is very good at making yummy food with whats available.

Building and DIY
-We have some experience with tool use and building. Fleur spent some time at a workaway restoring an old Scottish croft, while Angu is an electronic engineer by profession. We are fit and strong and would love to gain some more skills in this area.

Animal care
-Fleur grew up with dogs, sheep, chickens and pigs. We both love animals!
