Hello! We are aiming to be in Chile in January.

Description

Our names are Amelia and Fergal, a 26-year-old couple from New Zealand and Ireland currently travelling around Chile and Argentina, looking to meet people, help out along the way and improve our Spanish.

We are eager to learn as much as possible and help out in any way we can. We both have experience in content creation and have with us a drone and GoPro if you need help grabbing some new, exciting footage.

Amelia
Originally from New Zealand, I’ve worked as a deckhand and host for Dive Tutukaka, as well as helped out with reception duties. I hold a degree in Communication Design, Advertising and Media, and currently work in marketing for a travel company based out of Africa—content writing, managing social media channels and the company website, and liaising with clients and suppliers. I’ve traveled throughout the Pacific Islands, taught in Fiji, and spent time backpacking across Europe, volunteering in surf hostels, bars, and as an au pair along the way. My interests involve hearing and sharing unique travel stories and learning more about local environment, wildlife and communities.

Fergal
After completing a business degree in Ireland, I moved abroad and worked two ski seasons in Canada, taught English in Argentina, and trekked through Central and South America as well as Southeast Asia. Recently, I earned a Master’s in Economics and completed my lifeguard qualifications, so I’m fully trained in first aid. My spare times often spent outdoors, hiking, running, surfing or rock climbing.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Our main aim for volunteering is to improve our Spanish and meet some interesting people and overall have an adventure. We are hard working and super outgoing and will talk to anyone who will listen! Both of us have experience teaching English and are TEFL certified, we would love the opportunity to do a language exchange.
We love being around other people and have both worked in hospitality, bars and tourism for numerous years around Europe and Canada. Every job we have ever had has involved working with a team and in turn we can work well with most people and have strong collaborative skills.

Individually our skills involve…

Amelia:
I’ve worked in travel marketing, design and social media for years and can provide any help developing and maintaining your website, producing digital media content as well as any copywriting tasks. I’m passionate about storytelling and connecting people to new experiences, adventures and each other. Outside of this I love the physical tasks, have hands on experience as a deckhand and tour guide for a dive company, worked reception roles at travel lodges, volunteered in hostels around Europe and on top of that worked with kids as a swim instructor.

Fergal:
I love working with people and have spent several ski seasons in Canada in construction and hospitality, refining my customer service skills and learning how to manage high-energy, fast-paced environments. An avid adrenalin seeker on my days off I’d be out snowboarding, mountaineering or climbing and have a base knowledge in these adventure sports as well as being first aid trained. I’m also lifeguard trained and have a ton of experience working with kids, working as a qualified dive coach in Edinburgh whilst I completed my Masters degree in Economics. I have developed solid skills in web design and data analysis and can assist in creating content to help build and grow an online presence. My diverse background allows me to adapt to a wide range of roles, and I’m up for any challenge.
