Description

We are a couple from the UK currently travelling and pursuing career-driven experiences in Australia. Esther is a naturalist with experience in wildlife film-making, her most recent credit is as a researcher on the David Attenborough's latest BBC 1 title: Kingdom. Finn is a roboticist with experience working in haptic feedback for upper limb prosthesis, as well as modelling and simulation in marine engineering.

We are both happiest spending time in nature, and our travels have been oriented around seeing incredible wildlife in their natural environments. We also love surfing, diving, hiking and generally keeping active. In our down time, Esther loves embroidery and printmaking, while Finn loves drawing, reading and writing.

We are both excited to learn from our hosts, both new skills and perspectives, and are hoping to inform our next career moves with new experience. We're quick learners and will be an asset to your projects.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Esther has a strong academic background in biology and experience as a researcher in scientific documentaries. Her researcher role involved working independently in remote locations, close to wild animals and overseeing complicated logistics. Esther is an enthusiastic, creative nature nerd and a hard worker. Esther has four months experience working as a nursing assistant in the UK, looking after the elderly and vulnerable on a woman's ward. Esther is a caring and thoughtful individual.

Finn has extensive experience in robotics and engineering. This includes a lot of lab experience with rapid prototyping, 3D printing and laser cutting. He's proactive with handling tasks of any nature and happy to come up with innovative ways to solve issues, or to follow specified procedures as required. Finn is very active, from calisthenics to surfing to ultra-distance running, and this translates well to a strong work ethic for physical tasks. He is proficient at organising and documenting work, and keeps a daily journal as well as writing essays on Substack.

Both Finn & Esther have tutoring experience, Esther with children from ages 4-12 and Finn with ages 14-18. Esther has spent 6 weeks teaching English to school children in Hong Kong. Finn has 5 years experience teaching tennis to children of all ages, and has further experience creating and leading calisthenics classes at university. Both have babysitting experience and we both love pets and animals of all kinds.

Both of us have massively enjoyed learning to dive this year and improving our surfing skills. We're looking forward to doing more of these in Aus! We're keen for a game of Catan and Finn also dabbles in dungeons and dragons. When unleashed, Esther has more creative hobbies than we can count, but knitting is near the top of the list. Back at home, Finn plays bass in an indie band and Esther loves raising tadpoles to froglets, giving them a head-start in life.
