Hey !
My name is Emmy, I am a 22 year old girl who has lived in Belgium all her life.
I studied animal care for 7 years (6 years normal and 1 specialization year), 1 year I strived for my goal to become a veterinary assistant, but this training turned out to be too technical for me (I am more used to working with my hands).
I have experience working in a veterinary practice and working in a Spanish shelter for dogs and cats.
In this shelter I met my best buddy and social anxiety helper Goofy. Goof is a Spanish Mastín cross of 4 years old. He’s my biggest support, we do everything together here at home and my biggest dream is to see the beautiful world out there with him.
I always felt like I was trapped in Belgium, I wanted to see the world, learn and discover new things, explore nature and much more!
The busy life in Belgium has sometimes made it hard for me mentally, so now I hope to find myself again and push my limits in Scandinavia. Id love to do this with Goofy and somewhere where I can work with animals.

In my spare time I take my two dogs for walks and help other people with their pets and horses. I also study photography and would like to specialize in photographing animals and nature. I am creative and used to do art as a hobby, now I still like to draw and read but I really need to find time for it. I help ride and care for horses (Paint & Appaloosa) of an elderly lady, I have been riding horses since I was 8 and have always loved to do it. Because of my studies I was never able to keep doing it as a hobby, but not a year went by that I didn’t ride a horse.
Furthermore, due to some bad events, I have become a kind of introvert, I am open and friendly to everyone and can just have normal conversations, but sometimes I need time to relax. I am honest and will never lie about that. But don't worry I'm certainly not one of those people who doesn't go outside. I like to help where I can and always finish my tasks nicely. If possible, I would like to explore the surrounding nature with you and learn about your knowledge and experiences in your beautiful country.

I am mostly interested in improving my English. I’m used to writing English and reading but difficult words and actually speaking English I can improve on! Since I will be looking for a workaway in Sweden I would also love to learn some Swedish words. Dutch is my main language and if they want me to teach them some I can! I do understand that Dutch is a very hard language so it’s completely up to the people I’m staying with.

What sorts of animals do I have experience working with?: Dogs, Cats, Horses, Sheep, Goats, all kinds of Birds, Reptiles, Fish, Rabbits and animals like that. There aren’t many animals that I haven’t worked with yet.
