Description

I recently returned from working for a bilingual school in a small town located in Honduras. Living among families from various backgrounds has opened me up culturally, socially, and intellectually. This position granted me an abundance of life skills and continues to broaden my perspective.

Before teaching in Central America, I was employed as an Outreach Worker for the Surrey School District in Canada. I had the privilege of playing two roles with the job – a role model and an educator. Helping students that were falling behind on STEM-related subjects during the day, and running programs for the same kids after school, providing them with a good work-play balance and a healthy learning environment. Through shadowing other teachers, I met an LST teacher who suggested I take a TEFL course and see the world while exploring the academic side of education. That is what brought me to teaching abroad.

More than anything, I value human connection and believe it to be one of the keys to success. I hope to continue gaining more knowledge and respect for the world by traveling, contributing and learning. I look forward to learning more about this beautiful world and the people in it :)
