Hi there!
My name is Elodie, I'm 26 and I'm from Switzerland 🇨🇭. I grew up close to nature, in a small region called La Vallée de Joux, offering endless opportunities for outdoor adventures in both summer and winter. My parents took my brother and me on a few adventures at a young age, such as cycling across France and around Switzerland, kayaking around lakes and hiking treks. As well as being extraordinary trips, they helped me to adapt to different situations and environments.

As for my training and professional experience, I did an apprenticeship in commerce, followed by a bachelor's degree in business management and sustainable development. I decided to do this bachelor's degree because I felt that something was missing from my initial training and I really wanted to make a positive contribution through my work and therefore my time on this planet :)

Last year, I left my home country to do an internship in Montreal, Canada (which I fell in love with after a few months' trip to Vancouver) to work in sustainable development and business development (marketing) for a small local company. The relationship went so well that we agreed that I would work remotely for the company. So now I'm a digital nomad! I set up my own company in Switzerland to work as an entrepreneur and allow me to travel the world at the same time! The time I'm giving myself for this project is pretty limited, though, and won't in any way come through the work I'd be doing on a workaway project.

A big part of my travel experience has been doing volunteering. I have volunteered in many different places and they each taught me so much about myself and made me gain new skills. I have volunteered as a pet sitter, as someone who helped maintained the hosts's property by doing some gardening, weeding, pruning, mulching etc. I have volunteered in a buddhist monastery for 6 weeks doing housekeeping, kitchen hand and take care of the café. I have been looking after three bed and breakfasts while the hosts were on vacation, I have helped to paint and decorate a new zen space in another volunteering and some more...

Most of my professional experience is related to administration, marketing, presentations, social media, communication, sustainable development, event organisation and employee travel.

Outside my professional life, I have skills related to:
- Gardening (mulching, weeding, raking, planting, pruning...)

- Housekeeper
- Kitchen hand
- Organising things! (planning, budgeting, documents etc)

- Small DIY jobs

But above all, I'm keen to learn new skills and I tend to be a fast learner.

For nearly 3 years, I also had a small business selling second-hand clothes and organising sales events for that purpose.
