Helllllloooooo!

We are Ella and Tom, a British couple who have been living and working in Dunedin since March 2023.

Tom is an arborist and has just completed walking the South Island section of the Te Araroa Trail, and Ella has finished her job as a doctor just before Christmas and we are both now living full time in John the van as we explore New Zealand further.

We both love the outdoors and are into hiking, cycling, camping, learning about New Zealand's beautiful bird and plant life and are keen to further explore this beautiful country while learning new skills and meeting lovely people along the way.

Ella grew up on a farm in Devon and Tom in a small hamlet in Somerset so the 'outdoorsy-ness' has always been a part of us.

We have a target in the next 10 to 15 years to design and construct our own home as sustainably and sympathetically to the land as possible. While workawaying we aim to build from our base of good gardening, DIY and arboricultural skills to help realise this dream in the future!

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Tom worked as an Arborist, so has skills and knowledge surrounding tree work. He is also good at general DIY tasks and has previously renovated a house and has made some of his own furniture. He is also a keen photographer. He studied graphic design at university so is also very creative.

Ella works as a doctor, so is great for any first aid problems! Also has great communications skills through various healthcare and teaching experience. She has also had a variety of jobs in hospitality - cleaning, waitressing, wedding prep, babysitting. Ella grew up on a farm in Devon, so has lots of insights into farmwork and is very happy to muck-in! Ella is good at playing piano and flute.
