Description

We are a Québécois couple, 31 and 33 years old, who love meeting new people and creating meaningful connections. For us, traveling only makes sense if we take part in the local community and truly immerse ourselves in the real local life.

As Workaway hosts ourselves for over 3 years (see our host profile here : https://www.workaway.info/en/host/944955949115), we understand well the reality of hosting and what is expected from volunteers.

Elise:
I already have 3 Workaway experiences:

In Vietnam, teaching English and French to children and teenagers.
In Costa Rica, helping develop an eco-camping project.
In Québec, assisting a family running an eco-tourism place.

I am a multi-passionate person (crafts, music, outdoor activities, running), and I especially enjoy everything related to people. I love open and respectful conversations about philosophy, history, sociology, and psychology. In daily life, I work as Operations Coordinator in a natural and tourist park in Québec.

Derick :
I am a trained photographer and would be happy to take professional photos and videos for you. I am also passionate about coffee and cooking, especially fermentation. Being a host myself for the past 3 years, I look forward to the moment I can also contribute to someone else’s project or community as a Workawayer. Having done a lot of renovation and hands-on work on our house, I am comfortable helping with a wide range of practical tasks.

Together :
We are both open, flexible, and ready to contribute in many ways depending on your needs: customer service, cooking, cleaning, gardening, childcare, animal care, and more.
