Description
Hi I’m Elisa, a 24 years old Italian girl. Even if this is my first time signing up on WorkAway, I already had similar experiences in Italy. Now I feel ready for the upgrade and I would like to move abroad and have a chance to improve my English.
I may seem shy at first but when I open up it’s a whole different story! I’m a cheerful and sunny person, that likes to have fun and to make jokes.
As for my work ethic: I ask, I adapt and I learn. If something isn’t clear to me, I don’t hesitate to ask questions. I’m accustomed to do manual/physical jobs and I enjoy working outside. I’m also used to work with children. I don’t want to sound presumptuous, but for some reason children have always liked me, so for many years I worked as a summer camp leader and it was really fun.
I have been riding horses since I was little and horses have been the biggest passion of my life. Three years ago I have obtained the ENGEA equestrian guide certification and since then I have gained skills in managing horses in different stables around Italy. Since the beginning I have been using the horsemanship approach, method that I also use with my adopted horse Ultimo (a Trotter at the end of his career), who lives with a small herd in a fenced wood.
As for my hobbies, I’m a pretty creative person: I like to draw and I do henna tattoos for family members and friends. I also love to read and sometimes I try to write what my imagination creates.
I’m an active and sporty person. I like playing team games for fun and I practice kendo twice a week.
As for interests I'd like to explore further if the opportunity arose, I'm deeply fascinated by anything artisanal or artistic, such as painting, ceramics, or woodcarving.
I have a large family (between aunts, uncles and cousins, there are about thirty of us), so I'm comfortable with the conviviality and chaos that comes with a family environment. I love spending evenings watching movies with them or playing board games or card games.
In this Workaway journey I would like to stay in touch with animals, especially horses. As my first passion I would always like them around me. That said, I’m ready to start a new chapter of my life and to make new experiences, to learn about other cultures and different styles of life.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?
As regards the care and management of horses, I know how to take care of cleaning the stables, I know how to take care of the maintenance of the animals (water, food, basic care, grooming, etc.), I know how to manage the horses on the ground and on saddle and I can notice the signs if something is wrong with them. I worked for a short time as an equestrian tour guide, where I accompanied experts and beginners on horseback excursions. I also helped manage summer camps for children and young people focused on the equestrian world, where I organized team games or taught riding.

It was my first WorkAwayer experience abroad, and they were the most welcoming family I could have ever met. I was a little shy at first, but thanks to them and the breath of fresh air each of them brought, I managed to break the ice. They joked with me all the time, even though more than half of their jokes were… read more
