Description
My name is Elia Schmidtmeister, I completed my high school education in July 2024 and turned 20 in June. My grandparents have a farm and I want to travel and see the world. I like nature and different animals.
I want to see different scenes of nature and meet new people and cultures. On top of that I want to discover new things about myself and what I want to do in life.
I was doing work and travel on a few farms last year and want to continue with work and travel for the foreseeable future.

I helped around the farm a lot, can drive the tractor and did quite a bit of carpentering. I can take care of sheep and chicken and am learning how to handmilk cows.
I speak English and German quite good.
My family always had dogs, so I like them a lot and can take care of them easily

I love dogs and ice or inline skating and am happy to learn different sports. I want to travel, see the world and meet new and interesting people.

I stayed in a separate house and took care of the chickens there and had at the beginnings some help with the dogs, but was then trusted to take care of them alone in the mornings and middays.

He welcomed me to his house and showed lots of hospitality. I also learned lots of local culture and history.
The village and its beautiful surroundings brought me lots of peace.
I mainly cut grass and trees to make firewood and enjoyed the farm life

I stayed from the middle of May and extended my stay to the beginning of July.
Luka is a great host and I will take many good memories from here on to my journey and look forward to coming back in the future.

He took my ideas about how to fix stuff into consideration and taught me lots about irrigation maintenance and Cretan culture.
We had many great evenings with interesting conversations.
