looking for a workaway in Hawaii

Hey there, dear future hosts! :)

I am Elena, 25 years old and just did my Bachelor degree in childhood education in Dresden, Germany. Well, actually it's been 1.5 years ago already and I've been travelling since then.
My journey has started with my first time in Asia, first time solo travelling and my first workaway experiences in Malaysia. Since then I've been able to learn various skills and collect wonderful memories through diverse workaways and jobs in Malaysia, New Zealand and Australia: from building bamboo constructions in the rainforest to managing a hostel reception, working in childcare centres, planting hundreds of native trees or gardening and landscaping in Sydney, I definitly enjoy working outdoors and getting my hands dirty. Along with that I'm very grateful for all the people from all over the world I've met and learned about their culture.

A couple words about myself: I am a very open-minded, reliable person, who is keen to develop herself every day (at least most of the time :D), trying to live a sustainable, mindful life, especially regarding to respect and appreciate nature and constantly learning the ways everything is connected.

When travelling, I love to explore remote places, love hiking, being in nature, spending time at the beach, learning to surf, dancing, try out new sports, chilling in a hammock and reading a good book, having deep conversation about god and the world, drinking coffee, enjoying good food, connecting with people from all over the world and learning about their culture,... I also love some adrenaline, for example climbing (mountaineering) or white water rafting. I am not much of a party person, still love to dance the night away once in a while.

I have a big passion for music since forever. In Germany I attend a musical school, do dancing and singing and love being on stage. Also I'm playing a tiny bit of ukulele and guitar as well as piano.

My next destination is Hawaii, where together with my friend June from Taiwan we'd love to spend our time preferably in some kind of community or family, helping with gardening, maintenance, DIY projects or child care and learn about hawaiian culture.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I am a very passionate early childhood teacher with half a year experience in a childcare center (age 0.5-5) in New Zealand, 3 years experience in a waldorf/steiner inspired kindergarten (children from 3 - 7 y.o.) during my studies in Germany and 2.5 months in a Reggio inspired kindergarten in Germany. I also did babysitting and tutoring primary school children for a couple of years.
As I'm also very interested in pregnancy and birth I did a voluntary social year at a hospital in Germany, where I was able to gain experience in delivery rooms as well as postpartum rooms.

During my travels in New Zealand, Australia and Malaysia I'm incredibly grateful that I've been able to learn heaps of various skills, especially regarding outdoor work, such as farm work (including milking and fruit picking), gardening, landscaping, building and DIY projects and diverse maintenance tasks, as well as dog and cat care, hospitality, housekeeping, hostel reception duties and some more...

Overall I love working with children, animals, outdoors, putting my hands into soil, I'm used to work physically hard and in diverse weather conditions and I'm passionate about leaving every place a bit better than when I arrived.
