Description

My name is Kauri Maher, and I am 28, from Dublin, Ireland.
(I am named after a tree from New Zealand by the way)

To begin with, I am a really adventurous and energetic person. I wake up everyday feeling grateful and excited about life and what the future may hold! I love listening to stories as much as I love telling stories, and it's my belief that you can always learn new things from the most unassuming of people, everybody has some wisdom to share!! I really enjoy travelling and experiencing new countries and their respective cultures! Art and history is a huge interest as well and when I lived in both Manchester and London , I think I visited every single art gallery and museum! :)
So far I have lived and worked in Switzerland, Ireland, England, Australia, Canada & Sweden...I have also visited many other countries including Cuba, Spain, France and once I went scuba diving with my Dad in Egypt!!
I did work-away in Switzerland in 2021, and I really have fond memories of this time, it really was a memorable experience..
My wish is to find a work-away for a winter season in the alps of Austria or France this 2024/2025.


I studied Agriculture Science in UCD, in Dublin in 2019. And since then I've done various jobs from working as gardener/horticulturist, to working in construction to teaching sports and managing a shop!

I love all things living and green from dogs, cats, vegetables, trees, fruits, soil and rivers, lakes and mountains.
I love working with my hands and being outdoors in the fresh air!!!

I speak English, Gaeilge (Irish), good Spanish & French and a little German!!!
I hope to improve my language skills at my next work-away..

I have lots of varied experienc from agriculture, craft & construction, education and retail

My agricultural (animal/plant) experience include;

- vegetable cultivation, seed sowing, harvesting
- fruit picking, tree pruning
- grafting trees

- Helping with my friends sheep farm

My trade experience includes
- bike building
- Home DIY, plastering, painting,
- Landscape construction, concrete, dry stone walls, paving, tiling
- Chopping/splitting wood, chainsaw work, basic woodworking

Board games are always a good way to pass time, favorites include Settlers of Catan, Monopoly, Risk..
Movies and some wine is another good way to pass time, favorite genres include; sci-fi, action, drama

I have lots of interests, so getting bored is never a problem for me!!! I like circus skills, working out, camping, hiking, cycling, arts and crafts and reading too.
