We're arriving in Livingstone, Zambia in less than a week and are excited to immerse ourselves into Zambian culture and see the stunning beauty in the country

Description

Hello! We are avid travelers, bikers, outdoor lovers and people who enjoy making a real connection with people from different backgrounds and experiences. We have resided in Montana, USA for the past three years exploring outdoor recreation, work, volunteering and appreciating the natural beauty around us. In those three years, we have travelled to Asia, Northern Africa, Europe and are very excited to return to Africa once again.

This time, we hope to experience localism and culture through volunteering work in order to provide our services where helpful and provide a positive impact to our environment. For the past three years, Drew has volunteered at a non-profit bike shop providing bikes and services to those who cannot afford it. We are eager to find that same local connection we've made at home in a different environment and learn from it! We believe regardless of our background, experience or expertise, we all have something we can learn from each other that'll make us a better and well rounded person.

We hope to continue this exchange of culture and ideas while traveling through Southern Africa. Our experience in life is incredibly varied and both of us are passionate about sharing that knowledge and learning from others. We have worked in management, non-profits, design & construction, tourism, hospitality and are eager to expand our skill sets. A large spur for volunteering in Zambia is that I (Drew) have family who have volunteered/lived in Zambia for years doing business development work. The lessons my brother-in-law has learned were instrumental to his development in life and he is forever grateful for his time here. We hope to share a similar positive experience with those we meet!

Both of us are fluent in English and would be excited to share out knowledge with others interested in learning. Our French is in the beginner stages from school but are eager to become functional speakers while traveling and meeting others.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Professionally: Both of us studied Engineering in college and have recently worked in the construction industry doing design and project management.

Drew currently works as a mountain guide, bike mechanic, travel guide, and has a variety of hobbies like volunteering, woodworking, climbing and culture exchange! Drew's skills lie in problem solving, technical work and communication. He has been contracted to work on unique solar systems, carpentry design and logistical challenges. Various achievements include funding proposals, treasurer work and often communicating directly with customers and sponsors.

Ren works as a designer for a construction company and pursues her passion for music, cooking, biking, pottery and handmade goods. Her skills lie in design and communication work. She works by designing novel glass projects and functions as an excellent communicator when working with international subcontractosRen

We are both outdoorsy people with a strong passion in skateboarding, climbing and trekking. We are eager to share our knowledge with other people and connect with others through the same passion. Drew has traveled the world through climbing trips in order to meet locals and Ren has traveled across North America in the pursuit of perfect dirt to bike on. Ren is a talented singer and cannot pass up the opportunity to sing with new people.
