Howzit from Donella and Eric Gerritsen,
I first came to Asia in 2022 and spent nine incredible months solo backpacking through Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Indonesia, and Vietnam. Along the way, Workaway became my go-to for unforgettable volunteering experiences, meeting such amazing people across Southeast Asia.
Now, I'm back—with my good friend and father, Eric Gerritsen, along for the journey.
We're currently exploring Thailand, and I’m thrilled to share this side of the world with him. We’re easygoing, optimistic South Africans who take on life with a positive outlook and a healthy sense of humor.
Abit about us: I went to art school, majoring in dramatic arts, but I also love hands-on work and embracing the wild. I have a marketing company in South Africa. I can assist with your business and marketing needs, including management, event planning, social media, photography, and content creation.
My father has lived a diverse life, from being a tool and die maker to a professional cricket player. He owned a seafood restaurant and nightclub in the heart of Johannesburg for over a decade and later ran his own mobile logistics company. Trust me, he knows business! He’s ready to help with full restaurant setup, staff training, inventory management, and more.
We’re using Workaway as a way to travel slowly and explore potential places where my father might retire and open a restaurant of his own.
Together, we make a great team! We’re both social people who understand what it takes to make a business thrive.
It's been a lifelong dream of mine to travel and work with my dad.
