Description

My name is Ditte and I am 27 years old. I have spent the past 5 months in Melbourne during my university exchange at University of Melbourne. I study a master's in Business Analytics engineering (mainly covering AI and data science combined with business) at the Technical University of Denmark.

I've been raised on the countryside in Denmark with my three elder sisters, a dog and my parents. I've done gymnastics during my entire life and still like to stay active with different kinds of sports - including rhythmical gymnastics and dance.

My hope is to spend two weeks in the area around Byron Bay from Dec 4-17th and would love to do it through workaway, as I find this the most interesting way of travelling meeting new people and sharing stories and culture!

VOLUNTEERING EXPERIENCE:
- STEM role model at High5Girls (DK). Working towards more diversity in the STEM field starting with empowering young girls and overcoming the stereotype idea of people working in the field.
- Workaway 2018 - teaching three siblings in Barcelona English (while learning Spanish from scratch myself)

RECENT WORK EXPERIENCE (study related):
- Junior data science consultant (2022-now)
- Student assistant in an investment bank (2020-2022)

PREVIOUS WORK EXPERIENCE (not study related):
- In the kitchen at a Copenhagen-based restaurant
- Office assistant at law firm
- Harbor master
- In the kitchen/restaurant at a 5-star campsite near my home (3 seasons)
- Babysitting three kids through 3 years - two boys and a girl.

With Workaway, I hope to achieve cultural exchanges/experiences and meeting new people.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

My practical skills are simply those obtained by growing up in a big household with my parents and three siblings, where everybody helps in the daily routine. I like cooking, can help with gardening, tasks related to maintenance. Furthermore, I'm good with animals.
I'm at the end of my master in AI and Data Science combined with business, so even though its arguably helpful in this context, I have programming skills.

Other than that I still have some excellent gymnastics skills including cartwheels and a loooong handstand ;)
