Description

Hello! I'm Clara from sunny Scotland, fun-loving, work-loving I am on a hunt to discover lots of new things, jobs, people and places to see what life is all about. I love learning new skills and I am willing to help wherever I can - I am a fast learner and hard-working :).

In my free-time passions include yoga, reading, hiking or just being in nature. I am also interested in buddhism, which I would love to learn more about and try to practice meditation (although often forget).

My experience working so far can be sort of summed up here:
I have renovated a housing shelter in Bolivia, looked after kids in summer camp in America, and taught art to kids. I have worked in reception/bar/cleaning/breakfast in two hostels in Europe. I have lots of hospitality experience from events and hotel jobs, worked in administration and taught English in a school in Vietnam. I was the Sponsorship Director for the first Women in Space conference in the UK. I have experience dogsitting. Currently doing some minor house renovations - painting, refreshing tiles etc.

More importantly, I would love to get experience in new things as well - like your project! I would love to do something with my hands, learn how to work with wood or more construction skills, or work with animals. Really I will love most things, I am a born explorer and inquisitive type. Particularly, I love slow travel and connecting with interesting people to exchange ideas on life.

From my civil engineering degree I have experience with many programmes like excel, autocad, matlab, photoshop, etc. as well as design experience and working with mortar, concrete and soil. I have some bits and bobs of knowledge about structures, hydro energy systems, soil management practices, foundations, fire safety of materials etc. However, I feel that I am yet to really put any of this into practice as my degree was not very practical.

I have lifeguarding experience.

I also play the piano :)
