Description

I’m Claire Stolarski. I am from Greenville, South Carolina. At the age of 10 I moved to Suzhou, China with my family for a few years, this kick-started my love for travel and adventure. I was lucky to live in an international community full of families from all corners of the Earth. From this, I learned Chinese and I haven’t stopped studying it now 14 years passed.

After returning to the US I attended ghi school one being a specialized school for the arts where I took university-level architecture. I attended the University of Tennessee for architecture. For most of my summers, I traveled through finding odd jobs in various places. In 2019 and 2021 I spent living in a tent in Yosemite National Park, and in 2020 in a remote village in Alaska working the salmon run on the Bering Sea. I want to be able to explore more of the world I haven’t seen yet but have heard so much about. I search for adventure and to learn. While I spent my first summer in university at an internship, I learned so much more about exploring these strange but beautiful places.

I am a huge climber, I currently work at the climbing gym in the town my university is in. I love my job, helping others climb and teaching classes on how to belay, tie knots, explain climbing ratings, and general climbing safety. These classes are usually geared for Boy Scout troops so children ranging from 10-16.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I come from a design and build background. I grew up with a hobbyist carpenter as a father and always assisted with his projects. This developed further in school in which we had to construct models which took a plethora of skills from small-scale detailed models to large full-size furniture models. I work well in groups assessing where in the group I am needed by knowing my own skills and how those can be used to benefit the group.
Last winter I worked a maintenance position located at the hotel. This expanded on my knowledge of general building maintenance, eg, wiring, property management, furniture plumbing repair, etc.
