Hello everyone,

My name is Christina and I turned 18 this year (2024). I currently live in Berlin, Germany. This summer I finished my A-levels very successfully and after that I spent about 2 1/2 months travelling. One of my trips took me to Dahab, Egypt for freediving. In addition I explored Europe by train with a friend. These incredible experiences have only strengthened my desire to continue travelling and discovering new places. Above all, I want to meet new people, immerse myself in different cultures and become more independent.

I'm open-minded, tolerant and eager to learn, which is why I believe Workaway is the perfect opportunity for me. I'm looking forward to exploring different areas of work and different approaches to tasks, and I'm more than happy to contribute and help in any way I can. I'm particularly interested in creative areas (arts/crafts) and marine biology/conservation. I'd also like to learn more about sustainable living.

In my spare time, I enjoy sports (swimming, yoga and tennis) and drawing and painting. I also play the piano and love to read - my favourite books are "Norwegian Wood" by Haruki Murakami and "In the Name of Sharks" by François Sarano, maybe you'll like them too! :) Last but not least, I'm a huge animal lover, especially when it comes to sharks.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

My social skills are reflected in my previous work as a waitress in a restaurant and a bar, as well as in childcare. I did this privately, at events and as a youth center social worker. At present I work as a secretary in a law firm. So far I have not worked in the artistic field, but I am interested in working in this area and I have good skills. For example in painting, drawing and other crafts like working with wood (carving), fabric/wool (sewing/crocheting/weaving) and modelling. I could also imagine teaching sports to others or learning new ones myself, as I enjoy doing sports in my spare time. I speak fluent German and English and could also imagine to give lessons. I also have a basic knowledge of Spanish and am open to improving it. In general, I am a very open and tolerant person, which is why I am not afraid of approaching people and adapting to new circumstances. Finally, I am a quick learner, which allows me to help with new tasks as well.
