Hi,

I'm Chris-Eiji (just call me Chris), a 34 years old guy based in France.
After spending 7 years doing video game programming in Paris, I quit my job in summer 2024 to travel.

Because I'm half Japanese (my mom) and because I love Japan, I spent 3 months cycling there from North to South (from September to December 2024).
Now that my cycling trip is at an end, I would like to discover Australia and New Zealand, because I always wanted to go there, and it is not so far anymore now that I am in Japan :-)

I never did volunteering anywhere, but I'd love to try. After spending 3 months cycling everyday, I like the idea of staying somewhere with other people, and do something useful. I'm not used to "manual labor" (I put a shelf up once, otherwise I spent all my working days in front of a computer so far :-), but that does not scare me, and I'm looking forward to try and learn different things. I also like animals.

I'm into music. I played a lot of guitar when I was younger, and I am currently practicing the piano. Ideally, I'd like to find a place where I could practice a little bit, and/or teach music if there are people that would be interested.

Finally, I quit smoking but I "vape" a lot (electronic cigarette). I can of course go out and hide somewhere to do that, but I prefer to mention it here, as it may be a red flag for some people.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

No particular abilities in manual labor. I did some DIY stuff in my place in Paris (put up shelves, unclog the toilets...) but that's about it. I never did volunteering anywhere so far, but I'm looking forward to try and learn to do things with my own hands though.

I play some guitar and piano, and I can (would love to) teach the basics.

Because programming was my job for 9 years (C++, real-time game engine programming), I can of course teach programming (any language for beginners, and advanced C++).
I can also teach basic maths and physics, as I went to an engineering school.
