Hello there!
I am Charlie, a musical, sporty, adventurous 19 year old on a gap year.

I will be starting a masters in Physics at Oxford next year and I have spent the past 6 months working at a startup tech company and tutoring maths/physics on the side.

Whilst your gut instinct may therefore warn you that I am not the extroverted type, any person to ever know me can confirm that I am rarely (if ever) short of enthusiastic energy or cheerful friendliness.

As much as I love to travel, I have always found that I am most fulfilled when I am active in a community.

I am motivated by personal growth and discovering new passions. I love music, and play a range of instruments. This has always allowed me to connect with others and I have more recently been lucky enough to create music to professional standards. I also love association through theatre, with its internal as well as shared journeys that it can afford.

I pursue a healthy lifestyle - admittedly facing some admissions on my most recent travels - and make time for my health every day which is often made easy by my love of the outdoors.

Above all, I am driven by an opportunity to make a positive impact and push my limits.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

- Leadership/organisational skills: capable of guiding discussions and engaging with large audiences. I was Deputy Headboy of my large secondary school (when I was 17-18 years old). This meant I organised/ran many events including our school wide sports day.
- Teaching experience: able to mould my teaching style and approach to individuals and environments. I tutor Physics and Maths students up to University entrance level and have also tutored enthusiastic trombonists in the past.
- Children skills/safeguarding: I lead young children in my local community brass band. Time spent as a full time carer for a man with severe cerebral palsy and learning difficulties. Most recently I have lead a kindergarten classes learning English whilst in Cambodia.
- First aid: I have completed 3 first aid courses, one specifically for children. I am confident using these skills, as I have done more frequently than I might like to whilst travelling.
- Music: My main instrument is the trombone. However, I do a lot of singing and play the piano, and am always keen to share the joyous experience of music making.
- “Tech Savvy”: familiar with Microsoft, Google, adobe, autodesk suites as well as social media platforms, etc…

I always bring a pack of cards around with me wherever I go. I take particular pleasure in running social dilemma type games (e.g. Mafia/Werewolf)
I have always enjoyed social activities and organising them for large groups of friends or communities. E.g. dances, scavenger hunts, quizzes, adventures, etc…
