Dear Host, thanks for taking the time to read my profile. I am Francesco, social worker by profession and education. I have lived in three different countries (in addition to my own) and also travelled extensively and I learnt that I simply love being in contact with other cultures and meet new people with whom sharing views and life experiences. After living and working abroad (UK, Germany and Spain) for more than fifteen years, I went back to Italy and worked there as a social worker in Sardinia for the past 6 years. My job contract was ending in May so I decided that it was time for a break and do some traveling.

I have just joined Workaway so I do not have references here, but I have been using HelpX for some time and I can share the reviews that were left for me by HelpX hosts if that helps (I have also uploaded a screenshot of those reviews in the section "photos") . I completed my first volunteering experience in June last year in Catalunya, where I helped the Hosts for one month to clear their garden from the debris of a house renovation and also some other tasks (some painting, trimming grass, household chores and even babysitting their lovely 9-month old daughter Luna!). After that I completed two more volunteering placements in Andalucía, one in Malaga and the other one in Huelva. At the beginning of autumn I went back to Italy and stayed with my dad for a bit, since he could definitely do with a bit of help. Then I decided to give shape to a dream that I had, touring the Canary Islands on a campervan! And here I am, currently in Fuerteventura and looking for some additional volunteering where I can be of help and hopefully share my background and anecdotes :)

I speak English, Spanish and Italian, I am also a certified translator ENG→IT therefore also happy to help or teach some Italian :)

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

As I mentioned earlier, during my volunteering placements I have been helping Hosts with various tasks, I am neither a carpenter nor a gardener but I can nevertheless carry out manual jobs if they do not require particular knowledge or experience. But I am indeed quite a good cook and I will be more than happy to put those skills in action if you let me to ;) I have also been helping at guesthouses managing bookings, taking care of check-ins and check-outs and occasional maintenance and household chores.
