Description

I am retired, living full-time in my van for almost 5 years. I prefer sunny and warm places. I travel slow, staying close to nature, and mostly avoiding crowds. When I’m not traveling in my van, I’m backpacking with minimal needs. I’m very self-sufficient. I prefer slow transportation over Uber and taxis, preferring to walk, bike, take trains or buses. I’m an early riser who enjoys spending time in quiet places.

I’m happiest outdoors: hiking, biking, birdwatching, snorkeling, and just being in quiet, natural environments. I love and adore all animals, even the scary ones. I value calm spaces, meaningful work, and practical skills over luxury or busy social scenes. I love reading and playing board games.

I live a sustainable and minimalist lifestyle. I find waste in any form intolerable and it is one of the reasons I rarely dine out. I pick up trash and recycle, reduce and reuse in every way possible.

I am very independent preferring a low-maintenance environment. I’m not very good at small talk and sometimes my social skills are awkward. And at times I can be quit chatty. I’m very sensitive to noise and smells. I tend to spend a lot of time by myself but enjoy being in a group situation when I prepare myself for it.

I prefer hosts who value independence and reliability with hours and work clearly defined. It works best for me if expectations are clear.

I can help with general maintenance, gardening & outdoor work, cleaning & organizing, pet care & house sitting, DIY tasks reusing and recycling materials. I love to cook and bake healthy low processed foods. I am reliable and at my best when working independently without supervision. I can work well with most other folks. I’m not afraid of physical work and I love to learn new skills.

Gardening, cooking and baking, working with pets and farm animals (love poultry), electrical and construction (built out my van), and a slew of other things. I look forward to learning new things. I love being creative and solving problems.

Love to read, play games, solve puzzles, travel, scuba, snorkeling, hiking, biking; anything outdoors and warm. Not a fan of cold weather (below 70).

While I do work well with others, I do appreciate my alone time.
