Description
Hi! I'm Camilla, from Rome, Italy. I'm a professional dog trainer with a lifelong passion for animal welfare, nature, and conservation.
I’m a fairly quiet and reflective person, always eager to learn new things and explore different cultures and perspectives. I love meeting new people — and even more, I value making real, meaningful connections.
At the moment, I’m traveling as part of a personal project: a journey through different countries to explore and research the world of family dogs, shelters, and working dogs. It's both a professional and personal path of growth, and I’m excited to learn from every place and every person I meet along the way.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?
I'm a dog trainer with over 11 years of experience. I began volunteering in dog shelters at the age of 19, and over the years I’ve taken on a wide variety of responsibilities including: cleaning kennels, assessing and caring for dogs, training, assisting veterinarians with therapies, welcoming visitors, managing adoptions, organizing training courses and workshops for volunteers and dog owners, as well as fundraising events.
Alongside my shelter work, I’ve been working freelance , focusing on both training and behavioral rehabilitation, often in collaboration with veterinarians. I've attended numerous courses, seminars, and workshops, and I’m currently continuing my studies to deepen my knowledge — particularly in the area of behavioral issues such as aggression and phobias, which has become my main field of expertise.
I’ve also had several international experiences, both through Workaway and independently. I spent time in Norway working with sled dogs, gaining insight into high-energy, working breeds and pack dynamics. In the United States, I volunteered at a rescue center specialized in mastiffs and giant breeds, where I deepened my understanding of large dog management and their specific behavioral needs. Most recently, I volunteered at a dog shelter in Japan, which gave me valuable perspective on how dog welfare and shelter life are approached in different cultures.
My approach is based on understanding, communication, and cooperation, with a strong focus on the dog’s emotional well-being, not just behavior. I never use coercive, aggressive, or punitive methods. I believe it’s essential to first understand a dog’s personality, emotional sensitivity, and ability to cope with everyday life before beginning any training or rehabilitation work.
In addition to my work with dogs, I also have experience with horses, having worked in stables for 6 years. I helped with daily care such as feeding, cleaning, grooming, and basic training.
I also have a background in hospitality, thanks to my mother’s lovely B&B in the heart of Tuscany, near Florence, where I grew up. I supported her with various tasks like cleaning, serving meals, and welcoming guests — all of which taught me the value of responsibility, flexibility, and good communication.
