Description
Hello!! My name is Briar Rose Mesko and I have grown up in southeast Michigan. I am the middle child between two boisterous brothers and the daughter of a landscape designer and a carpenter. My parents have their own business where each of us has worked from time to time growing up. I have completed my first year of college and am excited to take some time out now to explore the world, to meet new people in new places, to acquire new skills, and to engage in new adventures, before I finalize the direction of my career.
I have many passions and skills to offer. First of all I am a very social, outgoing, open and flexible person and willing to engage in any activity where I am needed. As for my particular skills I have a lot of artistic experience as I have been active in creating, drawing and painting since I was a child. I was even commissioned to paint a mural on the walls of my high school and have won various local awards over the years. I have also been a regular, active performer in numerous plays put on by my high school drama club as well as being a longtime violin player and a member of chamber orchestra through all 4 years of high school. I also LOVE to cook and have spent many hours over the years researching recipes and techniques and preparing delicious and well-appreciated meals for my family and friends.
I have many years of experience working with people, adults and children alike. Besides being an active and well-referenced babysitter of many years, I also have worked for 2 summers as a camp counselor at a YMCA sleepaway camp (Camp Algonquin) in Northern Michigan on the shores of Burt Lake as well as working as a day camp instructor at Gentle Reins Horse farm closer to home. Another source of experience working with people and under pressure has come from working as a server in a local restaurant (Afternoon Delight) for a number of years around my school and summer schedule. Through all of these jobs I have developed experience creatively working with both adults and children as well as a plethora of great relationships and enthusiastic references.
Another skill I have is working with horses as I have been involved with them since I was 9 years old and began riding at a local barn. Over the years I have continued riding as well as participated with the care of the horses and barn maintenance (often taking the lead on maintaining both when the owner was out of town). I also have experience teaching as I have worked a number of summers there instructing younger children in the joy and discipline of riding over the course of day camps offered at the barn. Working with and around these animals is one of the true joys of my life.
Other passions I have are getting lost in a good fantasy novel, experimenting on my skateboard (I’m a bit of a newbie), going skiing up north with my brothers, or going for long summer rides on my older brother’s motorcycle (I recently got my motorcycle license). I am open to anything and it’s always more fun with friends.
I am excited for this next adventure in my life...... excited to expand my worldview, to extend and share my skills and most of all to enrich my relationships across countries and cultures.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?
I have a lot of experience working with people, both adults and children in serving and teaching venues like camp counseling, riding instructor, restaurant service, baby sitting, pet sitting etc. I am a very social and outgoing person and love interacting with people and animals.
I am a very artistic and creative person in both visual and dramatic (theater) arts as well as a violinist of 12 years.
I have 10 years of experience riding and caring for horses and instructing youth.
I love to cook and have a considerable amount of experience and great passion for it!
