Hello!

The last couple of months I have felt a big urge to travel around the world. Now that I have graduated and got my masters degree in business psychology, I finally have the time to do so. Travelling and especially meeting people from around the world is what I love doing most. I found that out during previous trips, where I travelled alone and stayed in hostels. Talking with people you normally wouldn’t, encourages meaningful and lifelong connections and it has allowed me to gain new perspectives on things. It has made me more conscious of what kind of conversations I want to be a part of, the friendships I want to have and the memories I want to make. Travelling has allowed me to form unique bonds with people, places and myself. That's truly what brings me happines and what I want to be doing for the next couple of months. I also like the unknown and I want to experience new things. I want to be moving beyond my comfort zone because I know this will allow me to grow as a person. Further I really want to discover my passions, personal beliefs and gain a sense of who I truly am. I'm very certain that the most valuable learning comes from experiences and not just in classrooms.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I think I'm overall pretty educated and determined, since I've finished my masters degree in business psychology. With that, I have developed a lot of people skills. Next to that, I've also worked as a hostess for 5 years. When working as a hostess, my most prevalent tasks were greeting guests, answering questions, assigning guests to the right table, engaging with guests, assisting various restaurant staff and responding to complaints and helping to resolve them. In adddition, working as a hostess has taught me to be more helpful, a problem-solver and be better in my communication towards people on a professional level. I've also asked me friends what they think my abilities/strenghts are and here is what they said: "Thoughtful, open-minded and organized."

I'm taking a gap year starting in August and I want to travel around the world, mostly helping out in hostels, cafés, bars, restaurants... something in hospitality/tourism would be nice!
