Description

Hey :) I'm Benji, 25 y/o from the sunny island of Malta. I’m a kind and positive person with a spirit for adventure. I enjoy living life holistically, with plenty of physical activity, nourishing foods, connected to nature and surrounded by good people. I’m quite a curious soul, always keen to learn something new and you’ll often find me reading some book on eastern philosophy. I’m also very friendly and tend to get along with pretty much anyone :)

Being an island man, I love the sea, have one too many facts about whales and I love to freedive. I enjoy any activity which connects me with nature, whether that’s hiking, chasing waterfalls or rock climbing. Also into yoga and meditation and always enjoy sharing sessions with people I meet along the road.

I’ve been travelling for the better part of two years now, having been blessed with a plethora of life enriching experiences. From workaway projects to solo- backpacking through central and South America, it has definitely been a life-changing journey. Besides developing my character in numerous ways and introducing me to some awesome people, travelling has also awakened my purpose in life, that is: to help conserve our beautiful world 🌍

I love learning new languages and sharing little nuggets of wisdom and expressions from different languages. Willy gladly teach English and the Beaty that is Maltese, and love any opportunity to practice my espanol!

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I have an academic background in Accounting and Business, and worked as a Financial Advisor for a number of years. I learnt a great deal of soft skills including responsibility, organisation and management, and it has left me with a work ethic which I carry with me wherever I go.

I used to work as a freelance Personal Trainer so I have a lot of knowledge surrounding health and nutrition. I have self-organised and lead a number of travel experiences as a side-project travel company when I was back in Malta. Also worked in real estate and hospitality and I have very strong interpersonal skills, which have only gotten better through my solo travels.

I have workaway to thank for loads of new skills, from permaculture and organic farming (4 months experience), land maintenance, event co-oridnating, networking and managing volunteers at a Surf Camp. I even worked as a tour guide for a Volcano hiking company in Nicaragua where I was responsible for the safety of 30+ international guests every day.

I am highly dynamic as a person and I am always motivated by a new challenge. Give me a few days with a new skill or job and I'll soon be getting creative with it ;)

Besides a lot going on on the outside, I really enjoy my downtime and personal space.
I love reading, particularly books about cultural anthropology and philosophy and lately I’ve been getting into some creative writing too 🤓 Also quite the film buff - I especially enjoy watching foreign language films.

Sustainability is a big part of who I am. I’ve done many beach clean ups, consume mostly plant based and sustainably sourced goods and I keep materiality to a minimum. I’m currently volunteering for Sea Shepherd in Melbourne 🐋
