Actuellement, nous sommes

Description

Myself and my husband married in 2022 and shortly after quit our jobs, sold most of our possession and set off around the world seeking adventure, to learn from new cultures and meet interesting people.

We spent 2022 and most of 2023 travelling around South America and volunteering in many places such as the Amazon rainforest, hostels, and Eco stays. The past year year we have been working as English Language Teachers in Hong Kong with the British Council. Our placement comes to an end in June, and we are looking for our next adventure and challenge

We are both keen runners, enjoy cooking, reading, and spending time in nature. We love children and animals (especially cats!).

We have experience teaching English to children from the ages of 4-18, and hold a TEFL qualification. We are both trying to learn Spanish ourselves.

I (Amber) have a great love of swimming and am happiest on a beach or near water. Ben loves waking up early to watch birds and other wildlife with a morning coffee.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

We have completed a number of workaway placements in South America and have developed many new skills. We have experience working in hostels, checking in guests, general maintenance, cleaning and preparing and serving breakfast to guests.

We have also worked on a permaculture reforestation project, where we pruned fruit trees, used machetes to clear pasture grass, helped look after the cats and dogs, prepared fresh juice and meals from fruits and vegetables grown outside, and assisted with general DIY (painting, restoring furniture etc).

We have spent the last year (August 2023- June 2024), teaching with the British Council in Hong Kong, and therefore have great experience teaching English as a foreign language.

Amber has a degree in Law and a masters in International Relations. She has worked for the government for the past few years and has skills in planning, negotiating, organising, event management, policy, legal advice, communicating and much more. Amber is TEFL qualified and has experience teaching English to students from the ages 4-24. Amber loves to cook especially making plant based / vegan meals.

Ben has a degree in Pharmacy and is a qualified Pharmacist in England. Ben has expertise in first aid, medicine and health care. Ben has skills in management, community care, communicating, leadership, and organisation and administration. Ben is TEFL qualified and has experience teaching children English to students from the ages of 4-24.

We are both keen to put our skills to good use and would love to develop any new ones. We aren’t afraid to get our hands dirty and are very quick learners

We have been together for 10 years, and recently decided that we wanted to experience and see more of the world. So we sold our house, took leave from our jobs and are now backpacking the world on our honeymoon.

We are so excited to meet new people, give back to communities and develop our skills.

We love playing board games, cards, outdoor sports, and running.
