Hi there! I am Ben, a 21-year-old from Newcastle, England. I have recently graduated from the University of Bristol and am looking forward to moving to London in September. Therefore, for the next 2 months, I am backpacking Europe, trying to make the most of having an extended period of time to do whatever I want!

Backpacking can sometimes become a mission to see as many things as possible and spending some time at a workaway would allow me to stop in one place and fully embrace day-to-day life in a foreign country. It would also mean I might see places I would have otherwise never thought to visit outside of the biggest cities and add a more authentic cultural touch to my experience.

As I am traveling on my own for quite some time, I am also very keen to meet as many people as possible from lots of different backgrounds. I am hopeful a workaway would provide me with this!

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I am native in English.

I have experience in gardening from work I have done in my parents' and grandparents' gardens. This included activities such as lawn mowing, planting flowers, pruning hedges, and building a vegetable patch. I have 2.5 years of experience in hospitality, which makes me well-suited to any work which involves interacting with colleagues and customers. I am also proficient in housework such as cooking and cleaning from my time working in a gastro pub and also from living at university for the past 3 years.

I am physically fit from going to the gym 4+ times a week most of the time and also from running, hiking, and playing sports. Therefore, I am not shy of extensive physical work and getting my hands dirty!

I love sport - I have played tennis, football, and cricket throughout my time at school and university. I have also tried my hand at windsurfing and sailing and enjoy cycling when in new places.

I am also really interested in trying different food and drink from around the world and understanding the lives of people who have had a variety of experiences.
