Description

We are an Australian couple currently travelling around South and Central America for about 8 months. We're looking to offer our skills and energy to help out where we can, and meet some people/gain some new skills and experiences along the way! We are both very relaxed people, but keen to roll up our sleeves and get to work when necessary. We love travelling, and have a van back at home which we often take for road trips and camping adventures.

Bella is a 28 year old digital content producer for the Australian Climate Council, which is a climate change research and communications organisation. She is passionate about the environment and ecological sustainability, and finds it extremely rewarding to put her skills in digital media and production to good use in this field. She loves travelling and meeting people - chatting with different people from around the world is one of her favourite things to do! She's an avid gardener and is obsesssseddd with food, and finds the intersection between those two things really interesting. Bella can speak a decent amount of spanish and is learning more as we travel through latin America.

Eden is a 29 year old licensed electrician and has worked in the construction industry for 5+ years. He has a wide range of skills in the construction realm, including home builds and renovations, using a wide variety of tools, painting, carpentry and electrical. He LOVES sport of all kinds, but is particularly obsessed with Australian Football. Like Bella, Eden loves spending time outside in the garden, and together they built a thriving veggie patch on their block. Eden is currently learning Spanish as we travel through Latin America and excited to keep improving.

We have been renovating our home for the past few years on our own, so we love doing DIY projects on our home and garden. We have never done a workaway before but we are really excited to offer our skills and experiences to help where we can, and to immerse ourselves in a new country, new challenges, and meet some new people.

We are interested in continuing to learn Spanish. Bella can speak a good amount of Spanish, and Eden is able to understand and communicate basic information. We would be happy to teach some English as well.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Bella is a digital content producer, and has 5+ years experience in content creation, video, graphic design, writing, social media, website maintenance, marketing, and more. Bella has also completed a permaculture design certificate, and spends a lot of time in the garden putting her permaculture design skills to use. She is also an avid cook, and loves all things involved with food - pickling, preparing meals, etc. She can clean, paint, do light construction work, and interested in learning more about things I haven't yet mastered. Bella has a degree in Communications and social political sciences, and International studies. She can also speak spanish.

Eden is a licensed electrician and has worked in the industry for 5 years, and spent the past 2 years as a construction labourer on home builds and renovations. He has lots of experience on construction sites, using an array of tools and techniques, and enjoys using his hands and body for work. He also worked as a garbage collection man in Sydney for a number of years, and has his heavy vehicles license so can drive big trucks. Eden spends a lot of time in the garden and loves being outdoors. Eden is learning Spanish.

We've both spent the past 2 years renovating our home in Australia ourselves, and have picked up a lot of skills and knowledge through this process. We're both eager to learn some new skills as well!

We love playing cards and board games! Our favourite game is Catan, but we love learning new games as well. We spend a lot of time outdoors and at the beach with our friends. We are learning to surf. We're very relaxed and easy going, but have a lot of energy so we're excited to get stuck in and make the most of our time during our work away!
