Hello and welcome to our Workaway profile! (:

We are Ieva and Bastien -- a multilingual couple originally from Lithuania and France, who have recently returned from our travels around New Zealand and Australia where we dived into doing the help exchanges and had the chance to meet and work with incredible people from all walks of life, learn from each other and make life-long friends and connections. We can’t seem to get enough of it now!

We are a thoughtful and considerate couple who have traveled, lived and worked together so we have learned to be aware of the partner’s needs, hear and support each other, and therefore we feel confident about being able to identify and respond to the needs of others.

We are brand new on Workaway but are more than happy to provide you with references from our former hosts!

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

IEVA:
- Teaching. I have experience in teaching English (both children and adults), choosing and preparing the material, identifying and adapting to different learning styles, building confidence;

- Child care and pet sitting. Have worked in a kindergarten and also had the chance to look after some adorable kids in NZ and Australia where our time was filled with imaginary games, races, hide-and-seeks and tons of laughter!
I've also made so many pet friends while we were taking walks on the beach together or while they were having a snooze on my lap!

- Cooking and catering. I'm a confident home cook and had the pleasure to cook and cater for the whole crew on a sailboat in Vanuatu or help around the kitchen and feed some lovely families. (:

- House sitting. I've had several occasions to look after some amazing properties (chalets in the Alps/ beach houses, farm houses/ boats) and make sure everything went smoothly. My tasks included cleaning the bedrooms, bathrooms, and common areas, doing general gardening and weeding.

- Dancing. I've developed strong feelings for salsa over the years and would be happy to spread the vibe to anyone who's willing to feel the rhythm!

BASTIEN:
- Engineer in Cooling Systems. Purchasing materials, planning inventory and overseeing warehouse efficiency. Examining financial data, managing budgets and forecasts to improve profitability.

- Building/ landscaping/ constructions/ painting/ plumbing/ electricity. I have renovated my apartment which consisted of doing everything from scratch -- demolishing the walls, installing electricity and doing the plumbing, building inside structures, designing and constructing furniture, painting the walls.

- Avid rock climber and tramper. I've lost my head over rock climbing some time ago and am really eager to share my passion with others. The same applies to hiking, camping and being in nature in general.
