Being outdoors!!!

Description

Hi! My name is Aurora and I grew up in Calgary, Alberta but have been living in Oslo, Norway the past few years with my family. I just finished a bachelor's degree in renewable energy here in Norway and I'm planning on moving back to Canada this summer to travel around and explore beautiful Canada! My favourite hobby is skiing (helps growing up close to the rockies) and I also like to hike, surf, be outdoors, travel and hang out with friends! I would consider myself to be an extroverted introvert. I love my alone time but thrive in the company of others as well. I am new to workaway, but have many years of work experience mainly in the service industry (including restaurants/cafes and clothing stores) but I have also worked as a tutor for elementary school children, had a seasonal job at a surf camp, babysat children from the ages of 0-12 and participated in several farm volunteer experiences in various locations in Norway. To sum up that last sentence.... I love trying new things!!! I'm hoping to find some unique and adventurous hosts here on workaway!

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Languages: I am fluent in English and Norwegian.

Work skills:
-Farm work: Through a volunteer organization in Norway, I have been worked at three different farms in different areas in Norway. The tasks I did at these farms include milking goats, cleaning/mucking the barn, making cheese, making sour cream, selling farm products, feeding animals, looking after the property, painting houses, building fences, childcare, cleaning, cooking and checking up on sheep that were grazing.
-Childcare skills: I have a younger brother who I always looked after when I was younger, so childcare is nothing new to me! Before I started babysitting the other kids in the neighborhood, I took a red cross babysitting course to ensure I was qualified. I've babysat kids age 0-12 in Calgary and Oslo. I think childcare is very rewarding and I truly enjoy looking after kids!
-People skills: I’m a people person and love to connect with new people. Working in hospitality for many years has definitely strengthened this skill!
- Camera skills: I love to take pictures and would love to help you with photography/videography.
-Generally, I would say I’m a quick learner and I’m willing to roll up my sleeves to get the job done!

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Renewable Energy from the Norwegian University of Life Sciences. This was an extremely interdisciplinary degree, so I have taken courses in everything from ecology to energy systems, law, art, math and physics!
