Nice to meet you! My name is Asma, I'm a freelance filmmaker and artist, currently based in Dubai. I was born and raised in Germany and am of French-Palestinian heritage. After spending the past year in Dubai in the insurance industry, I decided to take a little break from the big city and corporate job and focus on my passion as a filmmaker whilst travelling. I am eager to use this opportunity to reconnect to communities, families and people who put their heart into their work as I would love to experience all kinds of different lifestyles and cultures and I'd be especially thankful if you can teach me a new skill. Currently, I am writing a new movie script and my first novel, which fills most of my free time. I'm also working on a NFT collection and as a freelance editor, which has taught me lots of technical know-how that I'd love to share. With an academic background in oil painting and sculpture, I'm always happy to contribute to artistic and DIY projects and I'd love to improve my knitting and crocheting skills that I have recently picked up again after some years.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

As I grew up on a farm, I am very comfortable with adjusting to a more simplistic life on the countryside. I worked as a volunteering social worker for the past 7 years, especially in counselling children and teenagers with autism and special needs. In Germany, I mentored a group of girls between the ages 9 and 18 and tutored them in preparation for their SATs and school exams in Maths, Science, German, English, Biology and Economics. I have a bilingual Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts and love to participate or offer projects involving creativity and self-expression. With a focus in modern media, I gathered lots of experience in video production, project management, editing, crypto media and 3D-modelling. Working as a Sales Executive and Customer Relations Manager during my day job, I am skilled in dealing with customers' needs and administrative tasks of all kinds, as well as budget management and marketing.

If you'd like to take a stroll around some historic architecture or an art gallery, I'm exactly the right companion. I also love love love all kinds of films and love going to the cinema, so I am always on the lookout for other cinephiles. Recently I got really into self-care, meditation and journaling, which I'd love to chat about over a hot cup of coffee. I read a lot and am always looking for a good recommendation or someone to form a mini book club with.
