We’re a couple who share a deep love for nature, wildlife, creativity, and meaningful travel. For us, travelling isn’t just about ticking off places on a map — it’s about slowing down, connecting with people, learning new skills, and giving something back to the communities and environments that host us.

We’re happiest outdoors: surrounded by green spaces, animals, fresh air, and simple routines, but we also love creative expression. Art is something we both enjoy, whether that’s drawing, painting, photography, crafts, or simply appreciating creativity in everyday life. We see creativity as another way of connecting — to places, people, and stories.

We care a lot about living consciously, respecting local cultures, and minimising our impact wherever we go. Whether it’s helping in a garden, working with animals, supporting eco-projects, lending a hand with daily tasks, or contributing creatively where useful, we genuinely enjoy being involved and hands-on.

Community is really important to us. We love shared meals, conversations, creative exchanges, and the feeling of working towards something together. We’re open-minded, reliable, easygoing, and comfortable getting stuck in — equally happy with physical work, creative projects, or quieter, routine tasks.

Workaway feels like the perfect way for us to travel with purpose: to learn, contribute, create, and experience places from the inside rather than as passing tourists. We’re excited to meet new people, exchange skills and stories, and be part of projects that support nature, wildlife, sustainability, and creative living.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

We’re a hands-on, practically minded couple who genuinely enjoy getting stuck in and being useful. We’re comfortable with physical work and real-world tasks, and we take pride in doing things properly.

Ash comes from a construction work background, bringing solid practical skills, problem-solving ability, and confidence working with tools and materials. He also has a very creative mind and enjoys bringing that into everyday tasks. With a lot of time spent outdoors Ash has developed a keen eye for wildlife, with a natural ability to spot, recognise and identify different animals, birds and plants.

Ellen has experience working with young children. Mostly teaching nursery age in a forest school back in the UK. She feels passionate about outdoor learning, providing basic knowledge of local nature through play and exploring. Ellen studied illustration at University for 3 years and is a practicing artist with a love for sculpture, painting and murals.

We LOVE going to music festivals at home!! For so many reasons but to name a few, dancing, dressing up, the music and connecting to new people through the love of the same thing.

Nature of course has a strong place in our lives daily and the passion for exploring... but also for the bigger picture, ultimately we care so much for the land we live on and want to support it to thrive!!

Some other main interests include, Yoga, Meditation, BMX.
