Hi! We're Andrea and Nick. We're an international couple currently on a career break, hoping to become digital nomads by the end of the year. We love travelling to new places, discovering new cultures, places and trying new foods. We are very mindful and respectful of other cultures, very hardworking and very friendly.

We are currently living in Thailand and travelling around South East Asia. We have travelled to Vietnam, Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia and have loved our travels so far, but we are looking to experience cultures more authentically so a Workaway seemed like the best option.

Andrea: I was born in South America (Colombia) but grew up in Spain. At 14 my family and I moved to the UK so I can speak English and Spanish fluently. I am also learning Mandarin!
I love children and looking for a project where I can be around them. I have a TEFL qualification but never got the chance to practice. My mission is to teach English to underprivileged children so I am looking for a project to allow me to do this.

Nick: I was born in Australia but I grew up in the Solomon Islands until age 11, when my family and I returned to Australia. My family is from Southern China so I can speak intermediate Cantonese Chinese. I enjoy being outdoors and I am very interested in farming culture, specifically aquaponics. My mission is to bring people closer towards self-sustainability and looking for a project to enable me to do this.

As a couple we love hiking, cooking, content creation, editing and are very passionate about exercise and healthy eating: we work out every day and primarily enjoy swimming and running.

We also enjoy being around animals and have experience looking after cats, dogs, pigs, ducks, chickens etc.

We are primarily interested in volunteering at rural schools where we can do both: teach English and help with gardening and DIY projects so both our missions are fulfilled!

Andrea can speak Spanish and English fluently, and has a TEFL qualification. Can teach beginner English and some basic Spanish. She is interested interested in learning Khmer language and Thai. Nick can speak fluent English and intermediate Cantonese as his family are from Guangzhou. He can understand Cantonese but is not very good at teaching or learning another language, so prefers to do more hands on work

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Teaching: Andrea volunteered in Thailand for 2 weeks teaching English in rural schools. She also helped to build a vegetable garden in an orphanage. Has TEFL qualification but no real practice. She also speaks Spanish and could teach very basic Spanish.
Gardening/Aquaponics: Nick is very interested in gardening, farming and self-sustainability. He is very knowledgable about aquaponics and has even had a small aquarium with fish which helped to grow shallots. He grew up in the Solomon islands looking after chickens, pigs etc.
Fishing: Nick knows how to fish
Sewing: Andrea knows how to sew and can teach this skill using hand sewing or machines.
Babysitting/looking after children: we are both older siblings who have big age gaps between our younger siblings so we have grown up looking after children. Andrea also used to work as a child minder for a child with special needs.
Digital: We are both content creators and very knowledgeable about social media. Andrea has her own YouTube channel and blog and we both have business Instagrams and Tik Toks.

Nick is an ex-paramedic and can help with basic medical support, such as minor injuries, scratches, basic diagnosis etc.

Andrea has experience teaching English to children as well as working as a baby sitter for a child with special needs, so is very comfortable around children.
