Description

I am a college student from China and have lived in the U.S. for 6 years. My biggest interest academically are literature, history and basically anything about culture. I speak both Chinese and English at a high level, and I have been learning German for a couple years.

I love travelling and exploring different cultures. I enjoy meeting new people and listening/telling stories. I have been to many places in the U.S. as the pandemic has made it hard to travel internationally.

The continental Europe is a part of the world that I have wanted to explore but have not got the chance to. I plan to study abroad in Berlin, Germany for a semester next year, and I can't wait to get a taste of it soon. (maybe through workaway).

I love sports, particularly basketball, which I had played at a fairly high level. But I also enjoy other forms of games and exercise. I like nature, I enjoy spending times in the outdoors. There are so many quirky things I love. If it's something along culture and sports, I think I will like it. And I am excited to learn new things that I have never heard of!

I want to advance my German skills the most, but I also would like to start a different language. I can teach Chinese and English. I am not a native English speaker, so I am still learning myself, but I have gone through years of academic writings in English.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I major in history and have a job at the library in college, so I can definitely help with things with the range of doing research or telling stories. I am a native speaker for Chinese, so I can help with language learning (which I do with my friends at college already). I can also teach/help with some beginning to intermediate level of analysis and essay writing in English.

I played basketball in high school, and I think I can help with beginning to intermediate level of basketball coaching.

I have cooked for myself over a period of time during the Covid-19 lockdown. Nothing fancy, but good and healthy (I think)
