… read more coincidence? - the arrival of more family members. I didn't see it coming. I was used as a cleaner then thrown away. It was planned by them in advance I wouldn't stay a week or two.
-one thing that was not mentioned during the online interview I had with them: the main house door is locked after 10 pm (where the toilet/bathroom is). Where do you go to the bathroom during the night when you are housed in sub-standard accomodation (a wood cabin with no toilet)?
Another thing: they were 45 minutes late to pick me up after I visited a village/small town.
They didn't apologize. Their excuse was ''it's too expensive to send a SMS/text message to a non-Swedish phone number''. Later they still didn't say 'sorry'. It tells a lot about their perception of me and my time.
I was driven back to the bus station by car in complete silence. No one spoke to me and all I had was a cold 'good bye'. No empathy.
My advice to Workawayers: if a host wants to put you on trial only 'a few days' to decide then if you can stay for one or two weeks only, don't accept the offer from that host. On their profile the minimum stay is one week. If a host can't cope or work for a week or two (short period of time!) with a stranger - someone they haven't met before - , there is no point hosting, meeting new people, opening your mind.

I have stayed one and a half weeks with Inger, Anders and Lasse in their big beautiful house in the country side. Inger picked me up from my camp site in Söderköping and I felt warmly welcomed from the beginning. My work included working in the garden, cleaning inside and outside of the house, taking Lasse for a walk and helping in the kitchen. I had to work 5 hours per day and I had free time at the weekend so I could easily plan my week. As well as I had the opportunity to take a bike and explore the area. All in all I would highly recommend a stay with Inger and Anders if you looking for a quite surrounding directly in the nature.

This and the fact that we could always look forward to the great food that Inger prepares were the best motivation. They have a lot of experiences to share and we have enjoyed all the conversations. Eryk and Magda are a very skilled and friendly couple. They stayed with us for three weeks, always in a good mood and were never hesitating for different tasks. … read more beautiful shapes. They were also in the kitchen making very good food and served us special Polish food. The kitchen was very clean all the time. They became very good friend with our dog Lasse and took him for walks.
We had many interesting talks about travelling, culture, nature and even politics. We recommend them both and wish them good luck in the future. They had so many exciting things on their bucket list.

We were working around 5 hours per day and always 5 day per week, everything was very fair. We were helping them with daily tasks, cleaning, gardening and some carpentry doings. We also were walking with Lasse and it was during "our 5 hours".
During "corona time" we were living in small house outside, but it was cosy place. We were using toilet, kitchen and sauna in main house. Inger was making very good food for us!
We are really glad of have been there with them. Totally recommended host!

Claire stayed with us for nine days and we loved every moment. We had Australia together, we have all been there and lived there for a long time.
