  Description

  I am an anthropologist/writer/artist and single mom living in a Mongolian Yurt off-grid in northern Yukon approximately 20km south of the historical town and UNESCO World Heritage site of Dawson City. I have the rarest breed of dog in the world Canadian Inuit Dogs (I have a team of 10 dogs). I live on 21 acres of pristine wilderness that changes it's beauty with the changing seasons. In the summer I have a small garden and orchard that needs watering and the cutest, cuddliest cat in the world. There are plenty of biking and hiking trails as well as paddling opportunities on the nearby rivers (Yukon and Klondike).

  Learn about Canadian Inuit dogs and dogsledding as well as gardening north of 60.
  I live on the property with my teenage son. We both enjoy meeting and welcoming new visitors to our unique property, sharing history, culture and opportunities for connecting with the pristine wilderness and historical town.
  Workawayers will learn about techniques to gardening where the sun shines for extended hours in the summertime as well as the history of Canadian Inuit dogs and how to work with these majestic animals.

  Aide

  I require housesitters from time to time to feed and water the Inuit Dogs and cat. Feeding the dogs includes preparing separate servings for the dogs, letting the dogs free of their kennels once a day and then locking them up again after their spare time. Taking care of the dogs takes approximately 2 hours/day. The cats dish needs to be filled once every 2 days and her water dish filled as needed.
  There may also be a requirement to water plants every other day in the greenhouse. This is weather-dependent.
  I offer minimum wage for workawayers for the few hours of work I have to offer in exchange for a unique, cultural opportunity.

  Hébergement

  The housesitter will be able to stay in my traditional Mongolian yurt or cabin. There is electricity available, a queen size bed and an outhouse.
