Hello Workawayers,
My name is Lionel and I live in a house with a garden in the suburbs of Sanary. I am only a 10 minute walk away from the sea side. The work that I need help with is mainly in the garden and in the house , as well as other small activities such as painting and decorating. I do not have children or pets. The location is great for someone who likes the sea, sun, culture, wine and languages from Provence and the French Riviera. I am living on my own.
You do not need to be fluent in any particular language, however if your mother tongue is English, German or Spanish, that would be preferred. I would enjoy giving French lessons in exchange for English/German/Spanish lessons on a daily basis.
I have a lot of experience working with foreign students from my job in finance and I have traveled a lot in Europe. I am flexible, reliable and love speaking English or German. My meals consist mainly of local organic vegetables with some meat and fish, although I am very flexible with my diet and can easily adapt. Of course, being French I visit the bakery or the morning market every morning.
I like to pay attention to eat in a healthy manner. I am open to new cultures and ways of cooking; I like using horizontal decision management when organizing work. I would prefer non-smokers and non-party animals! But, I do on occasion like to enjoy the local pastis and wine which I can introduce to you.
I am looking for someone enthusiastic and positive. I am 56 but seem 46. I have a passion for cooking, traveling in Europe, economics, history, psychology, languages, TV series, and am open to learn new things. I am honest, reliable and trustworthy.
With the beach only 10 minutes walking distance, I enjoy going swimming daily in summer. I have a rowing machine at home. -

Living in a town between Provence and the French Riviera with local contacts, and sharing meals with the owner. A lot of sport possibilities too with sea side, walking, jogging, cycling... There is a bus stop near the house and the train station is on the line Marseille-Nice. It is an easy place to reach by train and coach. We could have a lot of conversations and work on your French and other languages on a daily basis. There are some great cultural attractions nearby too.
In my free time I like to go swimming, as I have previously mentioned, hiking, playing boules in my garden and board games in the evening. I also love learning new games/trying out new activities and really enjoy teaching games as well. -
Aide
Most of the tasks would be gardening, painting and improvements of the house. This help would be at the morning and does not take too long as the house and garden are a manageable size. There is no help asked for any guest.
Language exchange (French- English or German) with books is be possible during the afternoon for a few hours. -

I would enjoy speaking German/French or English/French every day, and to do some lessons too. Ich kann auch sehr gern auf Deutsch sprechen. -
Hébergement
A private bedroom with shared bathroom. There are satellite TV channels, a desk with chair to work, Wi-Fi in the bedroom with a large balcony in a flat of 80 sq m with a living room, kitchen, and second bedroom. There is a garden to enjoy spending time in as well.
I like to buy organic or local vegetables and local fish and some meat. However, I am not a huge fan of meat and would enjoy a vegetarian diet. -

My situation is more appropriate for people who like nature and small towns, even though big towns are not so far away. However, the house is not isolated, the town centre and sea side are a 10 minutes walking distance. I would prefer an early bird, quite shy, calm and a little sporty.
The stay could be a few weeks to a few months. -
