  Description

  I am a Canadian living in Malawi, Africa. I have been living here for 10yrs now. I have been studying the culture for a number of years now in relation to movement patterns and cause of injury based on daily activities. I have a small non-profit which we support rehab and elder care in the villages. You can have a look at our website;
  
  I stay in Northern Malawi near the lake shore. I have a small property where I built a place for myself. The land, gardens and random building projects are always more than I can manage! My place is about 3km from the town center/lakeside. It's peaceful with little disturbance. It's a warm climate which often welcomes swims in the lake after a day of work. There are a few lodges near by which are also a great place to socialize and have some good food.

  If helping with some of the videography, this is a great chance to get into the village and experience local life on a very personal level.
  Helping out with gardening and odd projects is also fun as I do live in a village and you get time to visit with the neighbors. Managing and organizing projects gets you involved in the area and learning more in the landscape and lifestyle.

  Aide

  There is always more work than I can manage with gardening, landscaping, building, carpentry and other projects; there is plenty to keep busy each day. There is a carpentry workshop and majority of power tools for someone to plug away and work on things. This would be around 4hrs a day of jobs around the place. I do have a gardener who always loves to learn new things and be supported.
  
  As far as our activities in the village, it would be wonderful to gain some content and design various types of social media. Stories, activities, we have been doing educational clips, etc. The other area would be in grant and proposal writing. Finding opportunities to fit our needs.

  There is a separate self-contained suite which the photo is shared. It is within the courtyard and quite quiet. You have your own toilet and shower also. There is a single cooker, mini fridge and kettle. The wifi and solar are also available to ensure you are always connected!

  There are plenty of local options in transport. Easy for basic or long distance travel. Good, reliable buses for long distances and plenty of options locally for short distances.
  In town there are a few lodges which offer nice food and good swim spots, Kayaking and scuba diving. Staying here is quite independent. Outside of any work, you may team up with a local group of footballers to join in playing, there is a hall nearby which shows games on the weekend, meeting neighbors is always great as they are very welcoming and open. The opportunities to meet and be interactive is there and waiting your initiative! It's a quiet and simple life but easily can be found with things to explore and appreciate.
  
  Living here, I have held a standard of building a structure through a relational approach. Honoring and respect of the people and their values. In this, has been recognizing the challenges alcohol has in this cultural and how it is viewed locally. Especially amongst women and elders who are often facing the effects from activities engaged with alcohol. For this reason, being involved in an excessive level of this lifestyle does have an impact on the relationship and work we are accomplishing. We aim to take wisdom in the standard we set in community and daily life by living an example that is not seen as a hindrance to others.
