We are a spanish language school and non profit community service project in Quetzaltenango, Guatemala. Our students range from children, high school/college groups, to adults 50+.
We've been committed to teaching Spanish for more than 27 years. We also work with the local indigenous community offering education sponsorship and support to children. We are very passionate about helping the community and teaching spanish.
We have built a rather large building that never seems to stop growing. As of a few years ago we started converting several of our unused classrooms/land into apartments, and now we have 13!

Ce projet peut impliquer des enfants. Pour en savoir plus, consultez nos directives et conseils ici.
We are looking for photographers and videographers to capture photos of the city, student excursions, etc. for our website/ social media accounts and promotional videos. This would involve accompanying our groups on activies and events at the school. If you have your own camera/equipment that would be great, otherwise we do have cameras and editing software that you can use.
We are also looking for help with our community project, working with children and families.
Our office is run by 4-5 locals so a basic level of Spanish is necessary, however, a couple of them know some English. Our volunteers will sometimes have to act as translators for emails, helping our apartment tenants, and helping our students with questions.
We want someone who is fun, reliable, responsible, and efficient. We also need someone who can provide our office/school/groups with a fun and friendly atmosphere!
ONE MONTH MINIMUM!
We offer a bedroom with a local host family, or one of our apartments (depending on availability).
Our school is located in the historical center of Quetzaltenango, putting you in walking distance of the local markets, bars, restaurants, and museums. During your free time there are plenty of fun things to keep you busy. We are located near several volcanos (Santa Maria, santiaguito, tajumulco), water park, hot springs, beaches (about 3-4 hours), and there are plenty of tour agencies to plan out weekend excursions.
