  Description

  Good day, adventure seekers! My name is Cristian and I am a well-traveled Romanian, middle-aged ;), free, hardworking, and full of spirit. After living and working generally in the hospitality and gastronomy sector across Europe, I gradually changed and adopted a new lifestyle, to a more adventurous, more active, and outdoor lifestyle.
  
  What good is it if you can't share your adventures with others? So I decided to share them with others, integrating a more sustainable, more natural, respectful way of life, and self-awareness in combination with great social and cultural diversity.
  I am a very welcoming, integrated person who enjoys new changes and the presence of all people who love animals.
  Being very practical and skilled, I have adopted many skills of my own and I am happy to share them with anyone who is interested.
  My passion is paragliding, climbing, and hiking, exploring the surroundings, but also the silence with its wild noise. Being part of an active, respectful, and healthy community, to living a life in the country is what makes me truly happier and more fulfilled.
  
  An ideal day for me starts with a hike at sunrise and a hot cup of fresh coffee or tea, looking down from the hills of Preluca, with the refreshing spring water and the fresh mountain air that simply surrounds me all the time, with those amazing beautiful landscapes at any moment.
  
  Years ago I returned to my roots, traveling through Romania more and more often. The longing and devotion for home, and the routes (mostly spontaneous) through my country have increased even more. 5 years ago, after several trips and explorations through the country, they made me come across the Maramureș region and the wonderful village, Preluca Noua. (Call it fate!)
  
  The village is located at an altitude of 750 m above sea level, at the foot of the mountains, near the river Lapus, Maramureș (northwestern Romania).
  The village of Preluca Noua was declared in 2015 as the most beautiful in Romania. From the beginning, I felt at home and I can't tell you how proud and blessed I feel to be part of this community.
  
  Food and beverages for daily use like dairy products and cheese, eggs, and so on can be found at the nearby farmer, or the next village. There is a bank and other conveniences. Baia Mare is the regional capital (approx. 30 km away) with rich history and art.
  This peaceful and beautiful village in which I live is in symbiosis with 4 other villages (Preluca Veche, Aspra, Codru Butesei, Intre Rauri), surrounded by about 300 Sqkm of unique and untouched landscapes and countless panoramic views.
  
  The views from the hills to the mountains are amazing, and the villagers are super friendly and welcoming, when you have a problem, they help you without hesitation.
  I instantly fell in love with the people, the surroundings, and the landscapes here. So I decided to build my long-term home here, and I bought a piece of land here.
  The soil is fertile and has not been cultivated for years, with fresh spring water, a huge orchard with nuts, apples, plums, chestnuts, many other fruit trees, and even a forest.
  So I own a plot of land with an area of ​​about 4 hectares.
  
  I have an extraordinary, practicable vision and a project that is waiting to be started next spring - and here you get into the picture!
  
  Our project, once it stands, will be a themed campsite that actively promotes the maintenance of the ecosystem in the area, crafts, customs, outdoor sports, and adventures, with recreation workshops (processing of clay objects, sustainable gardening, wooden constructions, relaxation area and meditation, outdoor cinema) ... and without you and your help, this project will be harder to develop!
  
  For sustainable development, the protection of nature and ecosystems, I want people who know how important and fundamental the environment we live in, even if they have little experience, but have enough will, power, and creativity, dedication to work in a team doing as let this become a reality. It is an adventure and a courageous undertaking for which I would like to take you on board. This can truly be your playground, where you can leave lasting impressions of yourself and many other people and guests that will follow!
  
  So, ideally, I am looking for craftsmen, permaculture designers, builders/carpenters, and creative people from mid-April till November.

  Together we will create a reference campus in "RE" creation, sports, nature, and the adventure of knowing local traditions.
  Being an experienced paraglider pilot, and passenger flight license, I can take you on a tandem flight showing you the world from another perspective!
  Creasta Cocosului may just be the most iconic natural landmark of Maramures, a region otherwise famous for its wooden churches and wooden gates that gain all the tourist attention. Nonetheless, if you’re looking for the complete experience of Maramures, hiking one of its peaks is a must. And what better choice than Creasta Cocosului (the Rooster’s Ridge), the most famous of all the peaks in the Gutaiului Mountains?
  Here we will find a comfortable atmosphere, sprinkled with workshops in survival techniques, beginners in mountaineering, tandem paragliding, hiking, and mountain biking.

  Aide

  You are welcome to sign up and stay, to take advantage of your help it would be great to stay at least 2 weeks or more. I need people who are interested in biodiversity, creating a "food forest" with new species such as sea buckthorn, currants, figs, etc., ecological projects, permaculture, and natural constructions. The project takes place in a beautiful mountain area, and the main help needed would be: land maintenance, natural construction techniques, gardening, and much more.
  You are free to create and come up with new ideas and you have a skill like carpenter or natural construction, that we can implement together.

  Hébergement

  At the moment you can live in tents or in a caravan if you have one, the base camp with a compost toilet and outdoor shower with hot water.
  We offer food with local products such as milk, cheese, meat, eggs, and vegetables from our organic garden.
  You can enjoy campfires, games, music (guitar sounds, djembe, didgeridoo and you can bring any instrument you want), and good stories to tell. To be honest, I'm curious who comes to join all the great adventures we do outside and on the spot!

  Right now the maximum capacity of volunteers is up to 5 people at the same time. Bring your kids as well, the more the merrier. Coming by car or RV will be ideal, as of present the accommodation is quite simple at present. With your own vehicle, and bringing the bike with you, you are also flexible to explore the beautiful region when you are not working. I am flexible concerning accommodation and planning, please be just transparent in your requests and travel ideas.

  All pets are very welcome here as long as they are well-behaved and looked after by you at all times! There is no real fencing yet and bears and wolves are not unknown to roam about in Transylvania ;-) Please make sure to have a current and validated animal passport with all the mandatory vaccinations with you. There are some trusted and highly skilled vets in the area, should you need assistance.
