My husband and I live on 12 beautiful and peaceful acres 3.5kms from Hanmer Springs. The views are spectacular. We keep horses, sheep, pigs, a cow and chickens. I work from partly from home and partly out of town and my husband works in the village. We often walk into the village but there is a bike to use too.

We are a typical kiwi couple, we love to socialise and love hosting people in our home. You will join our household (but with your own space), and come along to the things we do it depends on the week, but it could be horse riding a bbq with friends, a hike or camping. We take people for a week at a time to start and we can negotiate from there if we all get along.
We need help keeping the garden lovely- weeding and planting (but mainly weeding!). There may also be housework, and animal care to help with.

I was slowly learning German prior to the whole world shutting down. If your english isn't perfect it doesn't bother us, just remind us to slow down as our Kiwi accent can be hard to understand.
The accomodation is a large sleep out seperate from the house, it has tea and coffee making facilities inside, the toilet and shower are connected to the main house accessible via a covered walkway.
Thermal pools and other sites of Hanmer Springs are all nearby, we have a creek over our back fence, a bicycle for getting into the village. There is a lot of backcountry nearby for walking, and mountain bikes are available to hire from the village.

We both work usually work from home a few days per week. The internet can struggle with heavy loads, zoom calls etc but for light use it’s fine to have multiple users.
